Je veux installer une #Kubuntu fraîche sur un ordi qui n'a pas été mis à jour depuis la version 18.04 (oui, ça fait longtemps).
Cet ordi, un #Asus N752vx-gc195T, tourne actuellement avec un dual-boot Kubuntu-Windows.

J'ai fait un #liveCD et une #liveUSB pour mon #install mais les deux, après un passage par l'écran #Grub, ne me proposent qu'un écran noir.

J'ai modifié tous les paramètres de la clé et du bios (MBR, EFI etc.). Désactivé le secure boot. Ajouté les paramètres nomodeset, acpi=off lors du lancement de Grub.
Rien.
La seule chose que j'aie, c'est un écran un peu plus verbeux lorsque je remplace "quiet" par "verbose", mais qui plante en quelques poignées de secondes et me laisse comme sur la photo ci-dessous.

Je ne sais plus quoi faire. #help

Migrer une installation #Linux, c’est :
- Recopier le contenu du disque dur de la machine source vers le disque dur vierge d’une machine cible démarrée avec un #LiveCD.
- chroot et bind /proc, /sys et, /dev depuis le LiveCD vers le disque dur.
- Modifier le fstab et mettre à jour #Grub.

• Personally, I wish there were more "#LiveCD" (or rather "#LiveUSB") distros like @tails_live / @tails / #Tails and @kalilinux that that offer a comprehensive set of #tools and benefits for users.

Ideally with some nifty tools (compareable to Tails' #PersistentSotrage) to allow mounting local/remote storage as $HOME and potentially leverage toram as boot option.

• Bonus if that works via #iPXE for a #Diskless #Administrator Desktop to boot into.

Certainly that "#RescueLinux" part is mid- to ongterm goal of OS/1337 and I am working on it (abeit at a pace slower than I want to cuz 'things happen in meatspace' and those sadly require my full attention...

• Needless to say it's always good to have a nifty system at hand (worst-case I'd install @ubuntu / #UbuntuLTS #Desktop on an external SSD/HDD and have that at hand) if one doesn't have their Distro on a hot-swappable / toolless replaceable drive anyway...

Using #ArchLinux is quite good because it makes it easy to get started and adapt said system as need be.

Setting up #Debian on a notebook computer (Surface Pro 3) is still not a straight-forward task.

You still need an expert to set it up or you need to choose a more user-friendly distribution like #Xubuntu and accept the #Ubuntu downsides.

Is there a #liveCD that packs a bunch of lightweight OS-installers, like Arch Linux, Alpine, but also some heavier featured liveCD with the basics..? Like pack stuff onto an image up until it fills the typical CD/SD card/USB stick sizes..

Actually you can't mount a live CD in a way to see the contents easily, seems weird to me, tbh.

Je voudrais utiliser un SSD comme #LiveCD (via un adaptateur SATA/USB) aux multiples distributions, du style:
/dev/sda1: Trinity Rescue Kit
/dev/sda2: Xubuntu
/dev/sda3: Elementary OS

Je peux très bien faire un:
sudo dd if=filename.iso /dev/sdaX

Je peux booter sur ce SSD, mais évidemment il me manque grub pour choisir la distribution sur laquelle je veux booter.

Comment procéder?

Le SSD est divisé en trois partitions ext4. Un peu d'espace non-alloué en début et fin.
