Je viens d'installer #Debian sur un vieil #ordinateur dont la carte graphique est une GeForce GTX 660 de #NVIDIA

Résultat : souris qui se fige, rectangle blanc clignotant, écran blanc

#Firefox plantait toujours : j'ai donc désactivé l'utilisation de la carte graphique... et ça améliore beaucoup les choses !

J'ai suivi les conseils du wiki : encore une fois, ça améliore les choses, mais ne les résout pas entièrement

i cannot seem to find any helpful information about enabling my pcspkr beep in #Debian12. initially, i thought it wasn't working because my motherboard didn't have the piezo speaker attached. so i got a new piezo speaker and now my box gives of that satisfying beep when i power it up, and it beeps also when grub loads with "GRUB_INIT_TUNE" set up in /etc/defaults/grub. my user is in the `beep` group. i have the `beep` package installed. but running `beep` doesn't beep at all.

i understand why but i'm still annoyed that i can't just use pip install on #debian12 straightaway anymore without going through hoops/venv, etc.

When life gives you old 32 bit laptops.... #debian12 #XFCE to the rescue!

Die ersten Tests liefen ganz gut. Von der Leistung her hat sich der A4-5000 APU mit 4 GB RAM DDR3-1333 recht gut geschlagen.

Probleme gibt es aber mit den Keys für das APT-System. Letztlich habe ich Docker über die deb-Packages installiert, da sich kein Weg fand, das Repository ins System einzubinden. Als Fehler kam immer wieder "NO_PUBKEY" ...
Habt ihr da eine Idee?

Oh. Just realized that I couldn't add #GZDoom to #Lutris because the latter had to be installed as a flatpak to work, and as such doesn't have access to the directory GZDoom is installed in.

Derp. Should have thought about that a few days ago.

Well, that should be fixable, even for a #Linux newbie like me.

Haciendo algo de #musica con #reaperdaw en #Debian y es hermoooooso descubrí un instrumento virtual hermoso disponible en formato VSTi3 llamado Speedrum Lite es gratis y lo recomiendo mucho.

Antes tenía #dualboot con #Windows para así "separar" las cosas pero ahora que hago todo en #Linux me va re bien no había descubierto varios plugins como este. Haciendo #trap de momento porque es divertido jaja luego ya veremos.

Installed #FinalFantasyXIV through #XIVLauncher on #Debian12 yesterday and found that holding the right mouse button (to control the camera) sometimes prevents the game from receiving keyboard input.

I'll press W but my character doesn't move forward, so I'll have to release the key and press it again, for example.

Am currently experiencing enhanced dysfunction with my internet provider (Xfinity) when using a VPN (use both proton & mullvad) having repeated timeouts/disconnections ( #linux LMDE Faye 6). Any suggestions on resources to change setting (both cabled & wifi) to alleviate this?
