A new version of GOAT (1.1.3) is now available in the Asset Lib

* the full structure of GOAT's configuration directory is no longer required (missing folders will be treated as empty resources)

Took a little break from the game jam to get AI pathfinding to work and after some frustration I got it to find a decent path towards the player. Godot has made finding these paths pretty damn easy but did not predict my level of buffoonery

Level design
When I first converted Minerva Labyrinth to #GodotEngine from Unity, I of course didn't really understand how Godot worked. In Unity I used an object pool for damage/status popups, since these are numerous and short-lived, but in Godot (using C#), I tested it out and found it slower than raw instantiation. In fact, the time to retrieve from the pool appeared to grow non-linearly as the number of objects in the pool increased. #IndieDev #GameDev #SoloDev #Godot #MadeWithGodot (1/3)
I can't believe that I haven't been coding since 2018 and still made this. I wasn’t even familiar with Godot! Of course, there is room for lots of improvement, but still.

I had done some experiments with procedural animation before, using #QuarkPhysics — this was one of them.
Took a break after that, but now I’m diving back into procedural animation for a new project.
Let’s see where it goes.
