Internet Archive Is Now a Federal Depository Library
Internet Archive, a nonprofit library based in San Francisco, has been given federal depository status. The designation was given by California Senator Alex Padilla, in a letter sent to the Government Publishing Office.

While I love my kobo clara 2, the lack of proper public library integration remains a pain point.
Been eyeing the Android based Onyx BooX to fix that (will simply run the Android app of the library)
Specifically the Go 6, but it’s a bit behind in their lineup. They recently launched a Go7, which is perfect, but I really prefer the Go 6 form factor for its pocketability.
So pretty please, a Gen2 Go 6, dear Onyx ????

My #littlefreelibrary in #Ottawa is highly successful. People love it, kids want to see it close up. In the last few years, hundreds of books have gone through it. I remove books that sit there too long and once in a while I have to remind people to also bring books, not take only. I rarely see books being returned. I put effort in keeping it clean and neat bc so many little libraries I check are just a dusty mess. Also having great convo’s with people I never met before. #libraries #library
As recommended by Curious Marc we're using the CZUR ET24 to scan bound documents. If we have anything that isn't already readily available, we hope to share these scans.

I have Tolstoy’s What Is Art on the way from my library, and I think I’m going to read or listen to Parable of The Sower next. It’s been on my reading list awhile & I am regularly reminded it’s a must read.
I don’t want to give corporate media my $ now. Not that I ever gave them much last 30 years.
They have book players! What a great idea. I don’t need a computer, or wifi. Just earphones & batteries & it’s very portable.

My favourite task: I'm looking for a book in the library. I've got the code, but the library has many different levels and rooms and extensions and nooks and passageways. There is a labeled map but it's not perfectly clear. Eventually I find the right section and gradually narrow in until I find the book I'm looking for. Its neighbours also look very interesting but I manage to resist borrowing them all. At the #library I am rich and at peace.
