Maxwell Martin said she expected #Labour government “to understand that #fining vulnerable parents is #cruel, #idiotic, & they don’t.

The actor said compassion was leaching out of #schools

There’s no point in banging on about #behaviour & behaviour tsars. You can’t #teach #children to behave better by making them feel shit. It doesn’t work

We need to meet their needs. We need to make them feel they have worth.”

Being #controversial and #opinionated here but ...well...here goes:

Why is it, in the #workplace, that younger people with fewer years #education and very little experience consider themselves to be more #competent than older people with an extensive education and decades of #experience?

In the past (when older people were younger) we respected the #knowledge of older people & what they could #teach us. We weren't #arrogant, #supercilious #egoists.

This is totally neat. A game to #teach how to better spot #FakeNews. I played — had fun and learned!

"#Scientists who worked with us on the development of this #game found that playing Bad News improves people’s ability to spot #manipulation techniques in #SocialMedia posts, increases their #confidence in spotting such techniques, and reduces their willingness to share manipulative content with #people in their #network."

I found via @browsercompany today this great blog post and wanted to share it with you.

It is about #AI and how it will #impact and maybe lose our #internet how we knew it before. I really like the writing style and the conclusion it sets.

After reading it I still have the question if the implication that I am a human is really relevant in the internet. Maybe at some point we do not even want to know if a human has written an article. For
#tutorials and #learning experiences AI is maybe just the better trainer 🤷

As a content creator I am super concerned, because there is suddenly a swamp of tutorials and #short videos and I see a massive drop in view numbers. I love to #teach but besides real meetings and meetups I do not see how to be "better" than AI in it. And even there more and more people will create slides and content with AI.

What is your opinion about the future of AI? Has it impacted your live already?

Twice in the last month, someone has lamented near me that they have a bunch of learned-through-experience knowledge in their head, and they don't know how to draw it out into lessons to #teach their colleagues.

This is called "tacit knowledge". And fortunately, we actually know some ways to elicit it from experts & use it to train new learners!

I've appreciated Cedric Chin's blog series on this:
