I decided to fall for a #RomanceFraud campaign so that I could see what #SocialEngineering techniques they used and what data _they_ leaked.

They spent 3 weeks building the storyline + relationship before eventually asking for money

I am now vaguely curious about what drives the 'Influencer on LinkedIn' algorithm when it suggested the account of a #fraudulent account, a #pigbutchering #scammer... and indeed how the #scammers are working the algorithm...

Hoy le hice perder el tiempo a un scammer.

Le seguí el juego de pedirme información personal para la verificación de crédito.

Les colgué la llamada y reporte los números de ellos como spam y fueron bloqueados.

Nunca les dí mi información personal.

Esto es algo que deben de recordar cuando alguien desconocido/a representando una compañía falsa de arreglo de crédito no dar su información personal.

If you stumble about #Facebook accounts with watch symbols next to their postings: these are all #scammer accounts trying to suggest that they’re old and established accounts. Unfortunately people still fall for it when buying stuff on Facebook. #scam

A friend of mine with severe #dementia possibly had their #iPhone and #iPad compromised by a #scammer. I've offered to do some basic #forensics on it, and ensure there is no rouge software, change passwords, etc.

I am not, however, an #apple person, so I'm not really sure what the best tools will be to do so.

Apparently the lady on the other end of this cold call is upset because I wasted my time and also her time. Tragic.

She was very upset that I wouldn’t confirm the minor accident I’d had in the last two years (apparently) and the response “I guess if you’re calling me I must have had one” isn’t actually adequate.

Oh well, that’s two minutes “legal assistance” won’t be fucking with anyone else today #scammer
