I just watched the last 20 minutes or so of the Last Jedi. I think I'm ready for an AI created fan version of the 3rd movie in that trilogy that continues the story in an interesting way and not #TheEmperorHasReturned.

Like with #TheLastJedi, there was a ton to like and ways to imagine the new themes evolving going forward. I defended it from all the haters. But then they made #TheRiseOfSkywalker and showed they didn't care about any of that and had no plan. That's exactly how the latest episode of #TheAcolyte makes me feel about what they've been doing in the show. So disappointing. #StarWars
I'm gonna go out on a limb here to posit that a lot of the people who said "Luke would never do that" in #TheLastJedi haven't lived long enough to watch everything they believed to be good and true turn to ash #StarWars

Two main characters fall in love & meanwhile, our protagonist learns of their parents while being asked to join the villain dressed-in-black in taking over the Empire so they can rule the galaxy together.
Our protagonist refuses but manages to escape with their life. It ends with the Rebels taking a loss but escaping the villian-in-black on a spaceship to fight another day.
...yeah, #StarWars #TheLastJedi was really something wasn't it?

#TheLastJedi was the best of the Star Wars sequels, Rose Tico is a precious cinnamon roll, Poe and Finn are OTP, #Solo was really a pretty good movie, the original #BattlestarGalactica 's campy B-grade adventurousness was better than the remake's utter bleakness but Starbuck & Boomer were great, #StarTrekDiscovery isn't great but that's not because of the cast's diversity, #Picard season 1 was nice at least, #StrangeNewWorlds rocks my world.

Anyway... I still love this movie and that's great. Maybe my biggest regret is that Rey has not touch a very law point in this movie. I mean yeah kilo not siding with her to end the war was not that good, and her meeting her legend wasn't what she expected, and her parents were nobodys... But she never got any serious injuries, never had to fight the dark side in herself and she didn't crack down upon her family revelation. It doesn't feels like she was tried that much.
The rise of Skywalker at least hint at those struggles, so I have hopes that her arc will truly be complete.
I really hope ros won't erase what has been built in tlj. It would be as disrespectful as it would totally waste this trilogy.

Ok so watching this again till the end, it doesn't really look like there will be a Ben Solo redemption.
Part of why I think that is that he is now slave to the dark side. He never abandon himself totally to it. It's not the dark side that pushes him to commit atrocities.
