The Lamb's Waifu<p>So Acro Trip can on one hand be called the Safe for Work version of Gushing Over Magical Girls.</p><p>The fact that Dante doesn't get a costume disappoints me. I kinda want to see what a more G Rated version of Magia Basier's costume would look like.</p><p><a href="https://c.im/tags/Anime" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Anime</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/AcroTrip" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AcroTrip</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/GushingOverMagicalGirls" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GushingOverMagicalGirls</span></a> <a href="https://c.im/tags/MahouShoujo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MahouShoujo</span></a></p>
Jitsch<p>I got back to <a href="https://urusai.social/tags/TokyoMewMewNew" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>TokyoMewMewNew</span></a> after watching just the first episode when it started. I’m still not sure what to think about some changes they made compared to the original, such as the girls being specifically chosen instead of (if I remember correctly) randomly hit because they were at the exhibition that day. It works this way so it’s okay, I guess.</p><p>The most annoying is that apparently anime makers can’t think of another composer but Yasuharu Takanshi for magical girl series, I didn’t need TMM to sound the same as several <a href="https://urusai.social/tags/PreCure" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PreCure</span></a> seasons, <a href="https://urusai.social/tags/SailorMoon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>SailorMoon</span></a> Crystal, and the recent <a href="https://urusai.social/tags/GushingOverMagicalGirls" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GushingOverMagicalGirls</span></a> 😞</p>
Jitsch<p>I finished <a href="https://urusai.social/tags/GushingOverMagicalGirls" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GushingOverMagicalGirls</span></a> and I’m quite torn about it. It has some bits that I appreciate because they are rare to see - such as a sadist and a masochist finding each other, and female characters pursuing their sexuality. Azul had some real development there. <br>But there were also bits that I absolutely didn’t need and which made me want to condemn the whole show and tell people to stay away from it.<br>You would have to be fine with characters crossing all kinds of borders, the show really ogling the characters, and accept that the main character is a villain who does bad things.</p><p><a href="https://urusai.social/tags/Winter2024anime" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Winter2024anime</span></a> <a href="https://urusai.social/tags/JitschFinish" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>JitschFinish</span></a> <a href="https://urusai.social/tags/anime" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>anime</span></a></p>

Continued thread

As of episode 3 I’m starting to actually appreciate the show. By now it is apparent that the main theme is female characters becoming aware of and exploring their sexuality - without the interference of men.
Maybe they also go some ways that are not entirely „good“ but overall I can get behind this.

NOTE: that’s just my personal reading and might not be the main intention - the anime is still pornographic and has shots of female bodies that are meant to arouse and cater to a male gaze.

Still internally debating if it’s okay to keep watching #GushingOverMagicalGirls 😅
I’m really not a friend of nonconsensual action and I don’t like that this is another example where a sadist in anime can only thrive by forcing their kink on someone who isn’t a masochist… On the other hand she is supposed to be a villain….

But I also like a good Magical Girl parody and there were some funny scenes in the first episode.
If I continue with this I’ll definitely do so with a sense of guilt… also I’m actually disappointed that the legal streaming service has only a censored version.

Gushing over Magical Girls Episode 1 Impressions

Well that was sure a first episode. It had some funny moments, and hoo boy, it doesn't shy away from the ecchi, especially S&M.

Main character was more interesting than I expected. Can definitely see her diving deep in to her role as the dominatrix villain.

For those who don't want ecchi in their shows involving school girls in anime, definitely steer clear.
