Since I am in Rome for a couple of days, I decided to come to work at the Library of the Senate of the Italian Republic this fine morning.

The library staff is not friendly at all, but the place is crazy.

I am very happy with my new work laptop. It's a Framework AMD 13 which I have of course installed https://getaurora.dev on.

Thanks to everyone who made suggestions when I was trying to make the decision a couple of weeks ago.

It does look like I'm getting in just before they announce the new generation, but this will be *plenty* fast for what I need.

Framework Laptop numbers 3 and 4 for my company are set up. Number 5 is on it's way. The invasion is proceeding as planned.

Back in June it was teased that #FrameworkComputer in collaboration with #DeepComputing would be releasing a RISC-V motherboard for the Framework Laptop 13. That RISC-V #laptop motherboard has yet to be officially released but Linux kernel patches were posted today for enabling the DeviceTree support so Linux can boot on this upcoming board.

Joyful discovery of the day: Provided one knows what the components (SSD, RAM sticks, etc.) feel like, it is in fact quite possible to service a @frameworkcomputer laptop independently as a #blind person using the guides provided by #Framework. The new @frameworkcomputer updates look great! It makes sense to expand the lineup to include a more powerful 16" model, and the back module is a super cool way to tackle graphics.

I am bummed that the new Framework Laptop 13 display retains the same non-integer-scaling HiDPI resolution, though… that's literally my only complaint with the laptop.

Ugh the Framework Laptop is SO CLOSE to perfect, it's a shame its display is smack in the middle between 1× and 2× scaling. 150% looks perfect physically, but comes with all kinds of software issues.
