Wearing a mask is an act of refusal.

With hundreds of thousands of people hitting the streets for the first time since the effective collapse of the constitutional republic, there’s a growing need to widely disseminate information on keeping ourselves and others safe. To that end, we’re sharing a new zine based on text from @privacyguides, which includes best practices and helpful tips for smartphone security, protests, and mass surveillance. In Asheville, protesters will be rallying in Pack Square from 11am to 1pm. Members of our collective will be there distributing copies of “The Protesters’ Guide to Smartphone Security” along with practical zines for folks interested in taking effective action against fascism.

After-action report on this morning's protest at Tesla in Devon, PA:

- About 60 attendees.

- Age range 20s to 80s, but skewed older.

- One of the crowd had a sign inviting motorists to honk if they hate Musk. So the event was a honkfest.

- We were across from a Grenadier dealership and a supercar/hypercar customization shop. At one point a slew of local men in their supercars and hypercars rolled by and treated us to the sounds of their snarling, popping, snapping V16s. Fun! I don't know if they were for us or against.

- A fellow in a pickup truck rolled by slowly in the turning lane, equipped with a megaphone, accusing each and every one of us of being a "tranny" and having a penis. Some issue there -- very concerned about what was in everyone's pants. Needs therapy. 🤷🏼

- I suspect there will be even more attendees next week.

According to the organizers (said on stage), there were 20000 (!) people #protesting against the planned cuts to #research and #highereducation in NL in Den Haag today! I want to stress how many people showed up despite the rain, despite the cold, despite the longer journey for many (shout-out to colleagues from Groningen and Maastricht!), and despite the short notice of only two weeks after the questionable cancellation of the original #protest. 🟥 #WOinActie

📰 Ben & Jerry's is back in court again, and this time it's #suing its parent company #Unilever over accusations that it silenced the #IceCream maker's attempts to express support for a #ceasefire in #Gaza and support #Palestinian #refugees.

In a #lawsuit filed on Wednesday, Ben & Jerry's said Unilever breached the terms of a previous agreement that gave the ice cream company responsibility over its "social mission".

Despite this, Ben & Jerry's said it was #silenced four separate times when it tried calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, advocating for halting US military aid to #Israel, supporting university #students #protesting against Israel's war on Gaza, and supporting the safe passage of Palestinian refugees from Gaza to the UK.
