Interesting feature: the #Cosmonaut polynya remains active and persistent.

I just learned from #Wikipedia that the name #Cosmonauts Sea (30° – 50°E) was just a proposed sea name and is not accepted by the International Hydrographic Organization or any other organization.

Poland’s only cosmonaut, Mirosław Hermaszewski, who circled the Earth in a Soviet spacecraft in 1978, has died. He was 81.

Hermaszewski circled Earth in the Soyuz 30 spacecraft in 1978 as part of the Soviet Intercosmos programme

The retired air force pilot’s death on Monday was announced via his son-in-law, European Parliament member Ryszard Czarnecki.
