Rewriting my easymode #introduction post to serve as a proper intro that's more fitting.
Hi, I'm Casey! I'm a 27 year old substitute teacher, and I'm nonbinary, queer, and I'm polyamorous. Aside from gaming, my big hobbies and passions include fiction and poetry, writing, art, and music.
Since this instance is gaming-centric, I'll talk about this at length!
I've been playing video games since I was about five, back in 2000. I played a ton of NES platformers and was just blown away. We got an N64 in 2001 and the graphics blew my mind. Majoras Mask especially captivated me with its memorable story and characters and it's been one of my all time favorites ever since. It changed my understanding of video games. I started to see them as art. A game's story became vastly important to me. I wanted every game i played to take me on a journey like that game did.
That leads me to the game that got me started on playing games on PC, The Sims. The Sims was amazing to me because it ignited my creative side. I could create the stories and characters myself. I could create this little virtual people and watch their lives play out with all of the silly hi-jinks and dramatic moments that that involved. I credit The Sims with making me a batter storyteller and worldbuilder all these years later, as well as all of the thought provoking and fun stories I've seen in other games.
Here's some favorites of mine from my formative years:
#DOS/Early 90s: SimCity 2000, Link to the Past, Mario 3
#Win98/Late 90s: Ocarina of Time, Quake, Half-Life
#WinXP/Early 2000s: The Sims 2, Majora's Mask, ALICE
