"On 16 June, the “Sumud” convoy, meaning ‘Resilience’ in Arabic, retreated to the Libyan town of Misrata, 200 km east of Tripoli, after being blocked by authorities in the country’s east"
"Organizers said the convoy had been placed under “military blockade” and a “systematic siege,” with participants denied access to food, water, medicine, and communication"
Same happened to the ‘Global March to Gaza’, stopped by the Egyptian govt

Like the March2Gaza, the Sumud (Resilience) land convoy that started from Tunisia, has been stopped before even getting to Egypt.
"...the convoy had been stopped after leaving the city of Misrata and was now negotiating with eastern Libyan authorities"
"Organizers have said the convoy will attempt to reach the Rafah crossing in Egypt by next week"
I hope they can join the hundreds from March2Gaza and somehow get to Rafah

Update on the Global March to Gaza

"Israel stopped 12, thousands more are approaching Gaza"

"Thousands belonging to trade unions, rights groups, medical sectors, & civil society in 50 different countries are gathering in Cairo, Egypt, for the Global March towards the Gaza Strip."

The Sumud convoy from the Northwest African region, the Maghreb, will join them.

WionIsrael stopped 12, thousands more are approaching GazaThousands belonging to trade unions, rights groups, medical sectors, and civil society in 50 different countries are gathering in Cairo, Egypt, for the Global March towards the Gaza Strip.

There are currently three interconnected movements occurring at the same time. And they're all headed for Gaza.

Sumud - the overland convoy to break the siege on Gaza started in Tunisia - a few says ago, volunteers from Algiers, Morocco and Tunisia formed a convoy of 100s of buses and cars. They've been cheered by thousands of onlookers as they travel towards Egypt, with more and more people joining them along the way.

March to Gaza - thousands of people are currently flying to Cairo, from over fifty nations. There, they'll meet up with the Sumud convoy. And everyone will walk across the desert to the Rafah crossing.

Freedom Flotilla Coalition - more ships are being prepared to sail to the Gaza coast.

❗️A second front to break the siege on Gaza: Tunisian civil coalition launches land convoy while Madleen intercepted by Israeli forces

A coalition of Tunisian civil society groups has organized a large-scale land convoy to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and challenge the ongoing Israeli siege. Dubbed the Sumud Convoy, the mission is scheduled to depart on 9 June 2025 via Libya and Egypt toward the Rafah crossing, which remains closed by Israel. Organizers say over 7,500 volunteers have joined the effort since 13 May, including members of Tunisia’s football ultras known for their history of political activism.

While the Freedom Flotilla draws global media attention, Tunisian organizers stress this initiative is both humanitarian and political in nature, aimed at confronting Israel’s blockade and what they describe as a policy of enforced starvation. The convoy includes medical and food supplies and is being coordinated by the Tunisian Coordination for Joint Action for Palestine in collaboration with local solidarity groups. Calls are growing to amplify the convoy’s visibility amid fears of obstruction or targeting.

“It is important to recognize that Palestinians in Gaza stood their ground, despite immense losses, and prevailed. This can only be credited to them”

“Gaza's official death toll is a lie. The casualty numbers are far, far higher: The figures have been stalled for months. That serves Israel’s interests by lulling western publics into a false sense of complacency.“
