#AMOC: disruptions to theAtlantic Ocean’s circulation system
#ClimateCrisis
(1/n)
The studies about #AMOC keep being contradictory:
#CalTech: "The researchers found that the AMOC will weaken by around 18 to 43 percent at the end of the 21st century. While this does represent some weakening, it does not represent substantial weakening that the more extreme climate model projections suggest." (05/25)

End of Mission
One year ago on this day, Perseverance lost her little flying companion Ingenuity to the dunes of Valinor Hills.

Mars: red alert
The Mastcam-Z team at Arizona State University has just released a new batch of 52 Martian sols of images, captured by the Perseverance rover, and treated with their beautiful color processing. Check out these wonders!

@sandofsky The #cancer of treating #universities like a business, and by extension students as widgets, has infected #academia for decades now.
Sanity will be restored eventually, but in the meantime colleges and universities will continue to go bankrupt, and some will lose their once lofty status.
P.S. #CalTech lost much of theirs in 1958 when they effectively ‘fired’ Linus Pauling, the greatest chemist of the 20th century. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linus_Pauling
Breaking, from the Red Planet
The Mastcam-Z team at ASU has just released a new batch of 45 Martian sols of images, captured by Perseverance, and treated with their natural color processing. Check out these otherwordly wonders!

Perseverance, Opportunity, same vibe!
Looking back
@gutenberg_org It should be noted that the mistakes in the structure of #DNA made by #LinusPauling were partially due to him only looking at sketches of the X-ray diffraction data collected by #RosalindFranklin (drawn by his nephew who was working with #JamesWatson and #FrancisCrick ).
#Pauling could not travel from #CalTech to #England because his passport had been revoked by the #US #StateDepartment for his #AntiNuclear (atmospheric testing) protests. CalTech also fired him!
