I'm reading North Queen by Nicola Tyche on my kindle with #voiceview, and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire on my braille display.

Has anyone thought about making a #virtual #Braille #display for #Windows that would hijack the touch screen for use with #NVDASR or #JAWS as a Braille input device, and allow using things like a mode for navigation with dot taps like command mode with #BrailleScreenInput on #iOS with #VoiceOver? I'd pay for this. #Accessibility.

For #FreeCADFriday I've been doing a tiny bit of experimenting with the RNIB's braille font in FreeCAD to see how easy it would be to create the sort of "cards" that Dr Alex Ball has been making for his visually-impaired @museuminabox

Good morning! Here's today's NotebookLM deep dive! This deep dive covers the user manual of the Perkins Mini Seika. This is a braille display with refreshable braille cells. The Mini Seika is a small little fella. It's got apps like Notepad (which you'll see when you first turn it on), File manager, clock, bluetooth (which you can connect to your device by entering the pin 0000), calculator, read, and options. I got this thing back in 2018, and I've had it ever since. However, it doesn't charge at all anymore, so if I want to use it I have to keep it plugged in. Also, the files you right are stored in a SD card. #Braille #Blind

Went through MX 23 and Fedora KDE before landing back on Fedora 41 (GNOME) Workstation. Solid as always, and works with Brailleblaster (with openjdk) and my other language input settings (ibus) flawlessly.
Next, to generate my own nemeth replacements on Brailleblaster for the special math characters!

Meet the January Student of the Month! Brielle, a fourth grader from CA, began using JAWS and the Focus 40 Blue braille display six months ago. She loves using both products to complete assignments in and out of the classroom. “I like learning a lot of stuff. In math class, I use the Braille Math Editor and JAWS to complete math problems. I also use JAWS and the Focus to do assignments and take tests.”
