I was taking the Mercer exit off of South Bound I5 in #seattle. I almost cried tears of joy when I saw the car in front of me using their turn signal. Not only was a driver in this city using their turn signal, but it was a Tesla driver in this city.
Then I realized that they were using their turn signal because the off ramp curved.
Never mind, we got this. 11:45pm Seattle and grainy since I’m up to 6400 ISO.
Uh-oh, may not quite make it to totality here in Seattle.
11:30pm Seattle time. Image is getting noisy as I bump the ISO to get more of that red glow. On a tripod for the prev few images, too.
11pm Seattle time. Shifting over to a longer exposure to catch the red which, remember, are all Earth’s sunrises and sunsets being projects onto the surface of the Moon at once.
Here are the clouds that wafted by just before that 10:45pm shot.
10:45pm Seattle time. Was actually a pretty stormy day today so feeling lucky I can even see and share this at all. Yay!
Starting to see some shadow on the lower left portion of the Moon now as of 10pm Seattle time.
From U. District Advocates:
Cedars of Lebanon leaving?
What makes the University District so unique is its abundance of legacy small businesses which attract folks to our main street. One of which is Cedars of Lebanon, the oldest restaurant on The Ave, who after five decades may be displaced to make room for a McDonalds.
For some of us, the introduction of a corporate chain restaurant, replacing three independent, small businesses with a block-wide façade, directly across the street from the entrance to our main light rail station, is very troubling.
Consider adding your name to the petition or attending the council meeting tonight at 7pm at Bulldog News to learn more.

Hello, it’s the weekly #washingtonstate #kingcounty (that is, #seattle and environs) #COVID #COVID19 #wastewater toots.
A quick reminder that this King County respiratory disease data comes from Washington State, not the federal government.
Let's start with the West Point (WSPT) sewage treatment plant. Last week, the site reported the Sars-CoV2 7-day running average at 0, which was obviously some sort of error. Real data is back this week, but last week's 0 reading makes it look as if the levels went up. If you compare to the last valid reading from two weeks ago, it has actually gone down. Last data is from 3/4.
WSPT is one of three King County(-ish) sewersheds in this dataset. You can find overviews, individual sewershed results, and a breakdown of variants for the state wastewater surveillance program, along with other metrics like case counts and hospitalizations for Covid-19 and other respiratory illnesses, at https://doh.wa.gov/data-and-statistical-reports/diseases-and-chronic-conditions/communicable-disease-surveillance-data/respiratory-illness-data-dashboard#WasteWater. If you go to the page and click "learn more" in the statewide view tab, you can find out lots of details about how these data are calculated and how to interpret them. The dashboard gets updated every Wednesday (generally). The WA State Department of Health is here on the fedweb, at @WADeptHealth. Give those folks a follow.
