And in case whether there was an argument to be made that of course #Facebook and the like will respect your choice *not* to be scraped - no, they won’t. If you can’t convince some undervalued and overstressed human service worker who only gets to go by a restrictive rulebook that your privacy and thoughts are worth preserving, you are getting #scrapped into the synthetic text extrusion machine.

I don't remember making such a request, though it seems like the sort of thing I'd do. But the denial seems like a Catch-22.
