Das ist mal ein guter Hinweis. Da gibt es ein oder zwei Leute/Projekte, die ich bisher über andere Platformen supporte, die ich auch darüber unterstützen könnte.
Is there a consensus on which platform to use? I feel like I see more negative comments towards #patreon compared to #buymeacoffee or #kofi.
I am aware of #librepay but I feel like its features are not quite the same as the rest on this list.
An #activitypub based #bandcamp alternative would be terrific, right? Somehow connected with #librepay. #fediverse
@aktivismoEstasMiaLuo @torproject great point, shouldn't #librepay and #opencollective be the first choice?
@da so #librepay does attempt to ameliorate this by recommending larger payments over longer periods to reduce fees. They are also super transparent on where the costs go on their receipts but I agree micro-payments are still sub-optimal. I'll see how this goes but I'll reboot my #flattr account and at least check out the current state. I'm favoring regular subscriptions over "drive-by" tips because all the stuff I support is software which is an ongoing development.
I used to donate to a number of projects/creators using flattr but I let those lapse as the site went through it's various iterations and changes. I've come to prefer the direct subscription model and after a modest prompt from @xvilo I've finally setup #librepay for a few projects I use heavily. I have to say I was expecting to aggregate the various donations and do one regular payment rather than setting a payment cadence (and provider!) for each donation.
@blog do you mean @Liberapay? Or is #LibrePay something else?
I have created a #Librepay account for donations to me. I intend to use any monies to cover my open-source work, and for hosting this instance. https://liberapay.com/phessler/
Since donations through the service are anonymous, I don't know if, or how much, people have donated.
