I’m adding embellishments in this week’s Let’s Play video!

February – Week 4 – The Finish
At last, my #HandStitching project is finished. It took a LOT of hours. Now I can get back to working on my website.
"Stories We Tell 3: Winter 2023 to Autumn 2024" constructed for the Stretching Art and Tradition 25 challenge.
I was looking through my brown buttons…
Sharing these extra interesting ones with you.
The large ones probably came from coats.
Plus those odd-shaped ones on the left – in two sizes!
My contribution to the #ArtAdventCalender day 2 is the start of a daily #HandStitching project that will hopefully become a 24" w x 36" tall #ArtQuilt.
My plan is to construct this in 4 6" wide "scrolls" that I will ladder stitch together to join them. We will see how this progresses and if I can pull it off.
I know this offer, on the vintage trim label is no longer available — but I kind of wish I could order it!
All the playing I could do with them…

I have a plan, for my 2025 free Block of the Month, to explore creating by hand, using what you have in your stash.
I hope you’ll plan to play with me in January!
This is the center of my Sampler quilt (1998) - I keep track, and it took me 100 hours.
Worth every stitch!!
I’m seeing the misconception, in recent comments, that stitching by hand is ‘hard work’.
It’s not hard, at all - it just takes time & patience and has the bonus effect of relaxing creativity!
Stitches needn’t be perfect or it’ll look machine made…and would loose the charm!
As with all things you practice, you get better with time.

How sweet is this little box of threads!
For those who’ve asked me, if I’ll be offering patterns for these 5 pincushions — The answer is yes, it’s my newest pattern, available from my website.
Here’s the finished mini Dresden Flowers block, where I used those sweet, teeny, tiny plaid scallops, as a frame!
I’m thinking it’s time to hang all that I’ve made so far, for my Bits & Bobs collage quilt, on the design wall.
Anyone interested in seeing that?
Sometimes – the backside of embroidery makes an interesting pattern!
Happy weekend stitching!
Rare trip into town today…
Fun finds at the thrift store – these threads will be great for embellishing on my Bits & Bobs wallhanging!
As I’m falling asleep tonight, you know I’ll be thinking about how I can use them!
I’m so pleased with how my pink carnations turned out!!
I stitched them with silk ribbons.
Yosemite. In progress at 17 hours, 49 minutes. Mountains pretty close to done. I've loose sketched tree shaped shadows in the foreground to kind of block out where to stitch. Moving along. On the thread stand are some of the colors in it so far.

Light ironing and hand stitching the neckline, one side at a time. When I left the sewing room today, the neckline is half finished.
