This quote evidently shows what #DavidGraeber obviously didn't realize: That #capitalism is NOT some external condition to which we deliberately can relate and act upon. The predicament that we are NOT in the condition to wake up and "collectively decide to produce something else" is rooted in capitalism itself.
Because the world is NOT just "will and representation" (Schopenhauer).
It's important to consider the #dialectical relations between material conditions and human agency.
