I invite You to download free brochure (28 pages) with Lovecraftian inspirations from the real life history, science and religions: adeptus7.itch.io/lovecraftian-. I wrote it with TTRPG in mind, but You can use them as You want in your video game, book, as You wish, for free.

I'm running an #UnknownArmies #TTRPG campaign, and was looking at my #DeltaGreen books as I was thinking about what I'd run next. And I was struck by how uninterested I've become in the existential hopelessness of the latter's setting. Unknown Armies is dark and grimy and has plenty of bad people doing bad things, but its core is quite human and hopeful. There was a time I loved the cosmic nihilism of Call of Cthulhu and Delta Green, but, for a lot of reasons, I now very much bounce off of it.

This is a fascinating trip through 2,000 years of non-Euclidean geometry that ends up talking about the curvature of the current universe as a whole and takes a whole lot of little detours that could have been pulled out of any great cosmic horror story. youtu.be/lFlu60qs7_4?si=mkeGdk

Just fascinating stuff and well worth the time for anyone running #DeltaGreen or #CallOfCthulhu or any similar game. A wealth of atypical inspiration. Imagine the horror of _parallel lines_.

I love #DeltaGreen as a #ttrpg setting and framework, but (and I apologize to all I offend), I think the BRP system, whether in #CallOfCthulhu or its Delta Green variant, is inexcusably outdated and lifeless and only considered a classic because it’s sometimes simple enough that you can basically ignore it during play.

So… I’m considering running an upcoming short campaign with #2d20 to test that system, and I’m trying to figure out how to tweak #AchtungCthulhu to be less heroic and more grim.

Hey, I'm a #TTRPG designer and content creator. My focus is on dark & gritty games and solo. Currently working on #StilettoRPG (like a mashup of WFRP + Renaissance Italy).

I'm on YouTube but I used to co-host the Mud & Blood podcast.

My first game was WEG's #StarWarsD6 back in 1995. Here is a selection of my fave games:

#WFRP
#DeltaGreen
#Coriolis
#Vaesen
#AlienRPG
#Symbaroum
#NightsBlackAgents
#Mothership
#ElectricBastionland
#KULT
#Ironsworn
#Starforged
#SigilAndShadow
#BestLeftBuried

My favorite part of running a #ttrpg is preparation. Reading source material, organizing my ideas into usable notes, gathering inspirational images and text and music, and finally the tactile joy of making props.

But once the prep is over and it's time to play? I kind of hate that part.

For example, I don't think anything that happens at the table will give me as much pleasure as making the handouts for my #deltagreen game
