If online auction sites are anything to go by, no music formats were looked after as badly as 8-track cartridges. Suffice it say, they haven't aged well.
But I've started finding their faded, ripped, patinated packaging/artwork quite aesthetic. I'm not sure I'll convince you, but here's a thread anyway...

#NowPlaying The original 8-track cartridge release of Ummagumma by #PinkFloyd. It has a completely different track order which, arguably, is a big improvement. It feels way more balanced and it gels better as an album. More like a true double album than just an archival release of separate, isolated segments.
It's always worth checking out old 8-tracks and reel-to-reels. There are often different/extended mixes too.
