5946 @T_X Also the bet i made 5y ago is won: how disappointing it seemed at first, it is the power of the communities, the cleverness of the free/libre software developpers and users, and the personal work on tweaking and tinkering that made it over time get way better: more performance, adequation to my own needs, battery life even!

My last attempt earlier finally produced a working #webserver. If it hadn't worked this time, I don't know what would have happened.
Now I just need to teach the #cli #mail program #aerc to accept the server #certificate and not one that matches the mail domain.

Mein letzter Versuch vorhin hat endlich einen funktionierenden #Webserver hervorgebracht. Wenn es diesmal nicht geklappt hätte, weiß ich nicht, wie es weitergegangen wäre.
Jetzt brauche ich nur noch dem #cli #Mail Programm #aerc beibringen, das Server #Zertifikat zu akzeptieren und nicht eines, was zur Maildomain passt.

While I can't teach the mail program #aerc to accept the server certificate, #Claws does it without any problems. No matter how the web server was able to send the mail, there is a welcome email in every inbox. This shows that mail basically works.
Oh yes, #apt also complains about the entries in the #mirror list. #Debian will have to wait a little longer until I can take care of that. #Linux

Während ich dem Mail-Programm #aerc nicht beibringen kann das Server-Zertifikat zu akzeptieren, gelingt das bei #Claws problemlos. Wie der Webserver die Mails auch immer senden konnte, in jedem Posteingang findet sich eine Willkommens-Mail. Somit zeigt sich, dass Mail grundsätzlich funktioniert.
Ach ja, #apt meckert auch über die Einträge in der #Mirror-Liste. Da wird #Debian aber jetzt noch etwas warten müssen, bis ich mich darum kümmern kann. #Linux

So far, #thunderbird seems to be the best email client in Linux. Tried #kmail, #geary and even #aerc, but @thunderbird is the easiest and with better looks

In an act of great #bikeshedding, I present you with the latest addition to my #aerc config:

I've been struggling with the configuration of #neomutt for 3 hours now. 3 of 5 email accounts seem to work. The other two have an error saying there's no connection or authorization. Since the basic information is the same for all of them and the passwords are correct, I can't think of anything else that could be wrong with those two. Because #aerc is showing oddities, I'd like to switch, but for now I'm sticking with #claws.
3 Stunden quäle ich mich nun mit der Konfiguration von #neomutt herum. Von 5 Mail-Konten scheinen 3 zu funktionieren. Bei den anderen Beiden gibt es den Fehler, angeblich keine Verbindung oder Berechtigung. Da die grundsätzlichen Angaben sich bei allen gleichen und die Passwörter korrekt sind, fällt mir jetzt nichts mehr ein, woran es bei den Zweien hakt. Weil #aerc Merkwürdigkeiten zeigt, würde ich gerne wechseln, aber vorerst bleibe ich bei #claws.
