Hej ho, dzisiaj dzielę się z wami pierwszymi wrażeniami nt. #Tangara, ale jako, że nie ma co za dużo pisać na temat samego urządzenia (bo jest super), to jest jeszcze trochę gadania o ołpen sors, oprogramowaniu dookoła ~~(numer 3 was zaskoczy!)~~ i smutne gadanie na temat przemysłu muzycznego, zapraszam do czytania!

Tangara jest takim śmiesznym urządzeniem, które jest w dzisiejszych czasach trochę zapomniane, a mianowicie — odtwarzacz muzyki. Jest oparte w całości na otwartych rozwiązaniach, cały kod źródłowy, jak i schematy są dostępne na Codebergu CTZ oraz SourceHut Jacqueline. Jest to o tyle fajne, że nawet jeśli Cool Tech Zone zniknie z powierzchni Ziemi, to każdy jest w stanie1 ma możliwość dopisać coś, co uważa za potrzebne.

Has anyone experienced their #tangara playing music occasionally at a slightly slower rate, pitched down? I am still trying to figure out how to trigger this but when it starts it will play all music slowed and pitched down until I restart it. Most of my music is in 16bit 44100khz FLAC.

Any ideas?

I don’t understand why the #tangara appears to cost around $250. That seems a bit high given today’s cheap electronics components (ESP32, 3D printed case, PCB, …). Am I missing something perhaps?

I genuinely still love my #tangara, and the experience of listening to music thereupon.
@jacqueline and all the #CoolTechZone folks really set us up for success.

i finally got the last problem addressed with this #tangara shell design. this took WAY too long. now i can just clearcoat parts and then do final assembly. this is on printables now, and should be easy to find - there are only a handful of tangara models on that site.

Approaching Neuchâtel, and battery-wise the #Tangara is holding up very well. I had to switch to wired headphones, because the wireless headphones had run out.

My biggest gripe with the Tangara is issue #132 https://codeberg.org/cool-tech-zone/tangara-fw/issues/132; I’m happy to see that there may be a fix incoming https://codeberg.org/cool-tech-zone/tangara-fw/pulls/295.
