Why does my #kodi fail to play a #somafm stream without interrupts?

I don't even know how to debug this issue, but it keeps hickupping every 30seconds or so.

Internet speed is fast enough, CPU is between 10-50% used (the device does other things), Cache in Kodi is 1GB, RAM has 3-4GB free (of 8).

I hate it.

Shell script that's using curl and jq to get the list of channels from @somafm, fzf to allow you to select one, and mpv to play it.

Yesterday I as I was finishing work after a crap week, I had on SomaFM and just as I was closing up work... one of my tracks came on that I had not heard them play before, which lifted my spirits a lot. It pulled me right out of the dismal mood lingering all day.

That there remains a world where we can get human curation and human creation available to most everyone feels utopian in this day and age. It almost feels subservient, and I love that kind of civil disobedience.

@somafm I remember sitting on the bus back then, carefully balancing my laptop and my cellphone, in order to keep a stable infrared connection between the two, allowing me to use the phone as a modem for the computer, so that I could listen to a stream of Groove Salad. And it felt like a magic glimpse into the future!
