The scene at the #farm on Thursday was chaotic, with #federal agents wearing helmets & face #masks using #TearGas & smoke cannisters on #protesters, according to photos & videos of the scene.

Several #farmworkers were injured & one died on Friday from injuries sustained after a 30-foot *fall* from a building during the #raid, said Elizabeth Strater, national vice president of the #UnitedFarmWorkers.

(The… [#GSA] did, however, stipulate that the #Pentagon could be levitated no more than 3'….) Although ~50k demonstrators marched to the Pentagon, ~2,500 took part in a direct assault on the bldg.…some smashed windows & tried to force open the doors, others hurled objects & splashed paint on…soldiers stationed inside. #Military #police from the 503rd #MP Battalion formed the first line of defense inside the entrance,…blocking & repelling #protesters who briefly breached the glass doors &…foyer.

…[Predictably] Abigail Jackson, a White House spox, said [it was the] *violent* #protesters in #LosAngeles [who] had created an unsafe environment for local businesses. "It’s the *Democrat* *riots* - not enforcement of federal immigration law - that is hurting small businesses," Jackson told Reuters.

As the #DC #military parade took place, hundreds of #protesters stood outside the federal building in downtown #LosAngeles. People had been dancing around, before hundreds of cops circled the 4-block square without warning or announcement, leading to a tense stand-off, acc/to a Rolling Stone reporter on the ground. #FlashBang #grenades went off, & police used #TearGas & smoke grenades to clear protesters.

Though rock music blared on TV, the parade itself was eerily quiet. One video posted on X shows tanks squeaking past nearly silent crowds, sounding like a grocery cart in need of grease.

In the weeks leading up to his #birthday & the parade, #Trump told close associates that #protesters were going to try to overshadow the #military parade, including in media coverage, in #DC & elsewhere, & that he was determined not to let that happen…

At 2,000 locations across the country, #protesters held a #NoKings Day to voice their anger toward #Trump. About 20,000 people gathered in downtown #LosAngeles, undeterred by law enforcement's use of non-lethal weapons on earlier #protests & the president's escalation by sending in #troops.

#LAPD then fired #TearGas & crowd control projectiles at the group, sending #protesters, hot dog vendors & passing pedestrians fleeing.

“It was a total 100% over-reaction. We weren’t doing anything but standing around chanting in #peaceful #protest,” said Samantha Edgerton, a 37-year-old bartender

Some participants from the local rally joined other #protesters by the federal bldg, where people have bee protesting for over a week in response to #Trump’s #immigration #raids.

What was at that point a crowd of several hundred protesters started toward a freeway overpass but was stopped by officers on foot & horseback. #Police began pushing people toward an adjacent street, then suddenly turned to #FlashBang #grenades, *less-lethal* munitions & #TearGas.

Those remarks combined with the liberation speak amount to a pretty pellucid admission of the #Trump admin’s ultimate vision here.…much of the effort to deploy #troops to #LA to clamp down on mostly #peaceful #protesters in the city can be seen through the lens of the president’s months-long effort to punish blue cities & states.
