Angry Metal Guy<p><a href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/thraeds-impermanence-review/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">THRÆDS – Impermanence Review</a></p><p><i>By Owlswald</i></p><p>Adding to my list of bands with irregular monikers, German progressive post-metal/rock group <strong>THRÆDS</strong> (pronounced “Threads”) is the latest to fall under the scrutiny of my wide-eyed gaze. Formed in 2019 as a solo project by guitarist Angelos Tzamtzis, <strong>THRÆDS</strong> has since grown into a multi-national five-piece.<a href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/thraeds-impermanence-review/#fn-217620-1" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">1</a> Their 2021 <em>Akasha</em> EP garnered the attention of Octopus Rising—an imprint of Argonauta Records—which is now releasing their debut full-length, <em>Impermanence</em>. The promotional material for this Berlin-based quintet bills itself as a seamless blend of progressive post-metal alongside atmospheric rock, claiming to fuse the sounds of giants like<a href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/gojira-fortitude-review/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><strong> Gojira</strong></a>, <strong>Tool</strong>, and <strong>Porcupine Tree</strong> into a diverse and unique style. Call me cynical, but whenever descriptions throw about such high-caliber names, the reality seldom matches the hype. And, unfortunately, <strong>THRÆDS</strong> proves to be no exception.</p><p>A pervasive sense of familiarity permeates <em>Impermanence</em>’s forty-eight minutes. While “Devolve” delivers a half-time <em>L’Enfant Sauvage</em> stomp with <strong>Gojira</strong>’s trademark pitch shifts and tracks like “Einstein-Rosen Bridge” and “Clockworks” evoke some of the moody melancholia of <strong>Porcupine Tree</strong> or <a href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/katatonia-sky-void-of-stars-review/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><strong>Katatonia</strong></a>, <strong>THRÆDS</strong> ultimately leans too heavily on well-trodden modern rock crutches to convey their moods and textures. As a result, the material on <em>Impermanence</em> is largely standard and unremarkable, offering little in the way of presence or impact. Chuggy palm-muted guitar riffs, delay-heavy arpeggios and gallant distorted chord strumming drive <em>Impermanence</em> during its drawn-out instrumental sections. Celso Borralho’s vocals dither between solemn whines (“Sole Survivor”), gravelly Chester Bennington-esque frys (“Reflections”), and high, soulful croons (“Nothing Good to Say”). While these hint at Borralho’s considerable range, they generally also fall short of his full potential. Despite the self-produced effort registering a mighty DR 10 and Barnabás Mihály’s playful basslines providing some much-needed aptitude, <em>Impermanence</em> exhibits a vanilla disposition with little novelty or energy.</p><p></p><p><strong>THRÆDS</strong> relies on familiar modern rock clichés to drive their songwriting. Rock anthem “Reflections,” with its big, sing-along chorus and radio-ready polish is well-composed but employs repetitive chord progressions and melodic structures a myriad of modern rock groups have used a million times over. Similarly, “Sole Survivor” and “Timeless” lack novelty with formulaic compositions that contrast quiet, delay-saturated post-rock verses with heavier down-tuned choruses filled with garden-variety guitar riffs, foundational rock beats, and cornerstone vocal belting. Borralho frequently toys between his high and low registers, sounding unassured and whiny rather than passionate and introspective as his voice warbles above the melodies. His range and high register are his greatest strengths, yet he seldom leans into them with enough conviction to improve <strong>THRÆDS</strong>’ simplistic approach. Compounding matters is the sheer length of <em>Impermanence</em>’s songs as “Devolve,” “Timeless,” and “Reflections” all clear six minutes while closer “Story in Reverse” pushes eight, primarily to accommodate Alegros Gramma’s sax solo. Even the shorter “Einstein-Rosen Bridge” contributes to <em>Impermanence</em>’s sense of bloat, stretching thin ideas into wandering <strong>Maserati</strong>-like post-rock.</p><p></p><p>Predictably, <em>Impermanence</em>’s stronger moments appear when <strong>THRÆDS</strong> trim the fat and venture outside of well-trodden tropes. A prime example is the solemn “Nothing Good to Say,” where the quintet crafts a condensed, cohesive, and engaging offering with Borralho’s high, soulful croons floating above playful drum and bass grooves, all enveloped by an eerie, atmospheric feel. Mihály’s bass performance is noteworthy, driving a deep pocket with his rhythmic pulses while capably utilizing space with high-scale runs that explore the full range of his fretboard. Likewise, the chorus in “Story in Reverse” and the verse in “Einstein-Rosen Bridge” point to a more favorable stylistic direction, as <strong>THRÆDS</strong> momentarily recalls the grunge-saturated sounds of <a href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/yer-metal-is-oide-alice-in-chains-alice-in-chains/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><strong>Alice in Chains</strong></a> amid stretches of otherwise tedious material.</p><p>From start to finish, <em>Impermanence</em> struggles to find its footing, delivering an unremarkable collection of songs that is more often bland and forgettable than original and engaging. Displaying brief flashes of promise, <strong>THRÆDS</strong> defaults to the comfort of well-worn rock sounds, resulting in an overly long debut that lacks the confidence one would expect from a group aspiring to stand alongside the giants it name-drops. Ultimately, <em>Impermanence</em> rings hollow, forcing progressive and post-metal fans to look elsewhere for novelty and imagination.</p> <p><strong>Rating</strong>: Disappointing<br><strong>DR</strong>: 10 | <strong>Format Reviewed</strong>: 320 kbps mp3<br><strong>Label</strong>: <a href="https://www.argonautarecords.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Argonauta Records</a><br><strong>Websites</strong>: <a href="https://thraeds.bandcamp.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">thraeds.bandcamp.com</a> | <a href="https://www.facebook.com/threads.project" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">facebook.com/threads.project | </a><a href="https://www.instagram.com/thraeds.band/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">instagram.com/thraeds.band/</a><br><strong>Releases Worldwide</strong>: June 6, 2025</p><p><a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/20/" target="_blank">#20</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/2025/" target="_blank">#2025</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/alice-in-chains/" target="_blank">#AliceInChains</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/argonauta-records/" target="_blank">#ArgonautaRecords</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/german-metal/" target="_blank">#GermanMetal</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/gojira/" target="_blank">#Gojira</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/hard-rock/" target="_blank">#HardRock</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/impermanence/" target="_blank">#impermanence</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/jun25/" target="_blank">#Jun25</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/katatonia/" target="_blank">#Katatonia</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/maserati/" target="_blank">#Maserati</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/melodic-metal/" target="_blank">#MelodicMetal</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/octopus-rising-records/" target="_blank">#OctopusRisingRecords</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/porcupine-tree/" target="_blank">#PorcupineTree</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/post-metal/" target="_blank">#PostMetal</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/progressive-rock/" target="_blank">#ProgressiveRock</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/review/" target="_blank">#Review</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/reviews/" target="_blank">#Reviews</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/rock/" target="_blank">#Rock</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/thraeds/" target="_blank">#THRÆDS</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/tool/" target="_blank">#Tool</a></p>

Angry Metal Guy<p><a href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/convulsing-perdurance-things-you-might-have-missed-2024/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Convulsing – Perdurance [Things You Might Have Missed 2024]</a></p><p><i>By Dear Hollow</i></p><p>If you’re not familiar with Australia’s <strong>Convulsing</strong>, you’ve likely been exposed to mastermind Brendan Sloan’s impact on underground extreme metal. Alongside serving as bassist/vocalist of <strong>Altars</strong> (beginning with 2022’s <a href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/altars-ascetic-reflection-review/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><em>Ascetic</em> <em>Reflection</em></a>), guitarist of cinematic post-rock act <strong>Dumbsaint</strong>, and one-man show behind dissonant death/black distortionist <strong>Convulsing</strong>, he has contributed <strong> </strong>in some way or another to acts like <strong>Greytomb</strong>, <strong>Cosmic Putrefaction</strong>, <strong>Defacement</strong>, <strong>Gonemage</strong>, and <strong>Nightmarer</strong>. <strong>Convulsing</strong> remains his flagship project, and after two excellent LP’s <em>Errata </em>(2016) and <em>Grievous </em>(2018) of consecutively higher praise and a fantastic split with <strong>Siberian Hell Sounds</strong>, we are finally met with a gem of dissonant death metal after a six-year absence, an iconic record and monolithic sound steeped in nuance and imbued with dynamics, contrast, and texture: <em>Perdurance</em>.</p><p>What makes <em>Perdurance </em>such a resounding and enduring success is its ability to attack with intensity and dissonance that outdoes the best of its genre-mates. Warped rhythms are graced with staggered riffs and blazing percussion, as <strong>Convulsing </strong>explores every nook and twist of a rhythm and melody until its inevitable conclusion is happened upon in tragic and fatal fashion. Dissonant leads are the guide of <em>Perdurance</em>, providing scenic vistas to punishingly heavy riffs while reminding listeners of the inevitable doom that awaits. Like this year’s <strong>Ulcerate</strong>, the devastation is beautifully nuanced and dynamics are secured, giving a sense of freedom, sentience, and lushness amid the relentless darkness and discordance. Tempo-abusing, blastbeat-wielding, and heavy as mountains, the more immediate offerings (“Pentarch,” “Flayed,” “Shattered Temples”) offer this weight in pulverizing chuggy progressions, with a lurking monstrosity and humanity beneath its processions somehow more mammoth than its ten-ton riffs.</p><p></p><p>Beginning with “Inner Oceans,” we are graced with <strong>Convulsing</strong>’s massive sense of crescendos and atmospherics. A slow burn guided by the leads, the riffs are explored more subtly and incrementally – leading to a sense of immense claustrophobia and suffocation. Beginning delicately and organically, the tracks warp and shift while constantly growing in size and intensity, leading to what feels like cave walls closing in. The organicity suggests a warmth unexpected in this breed of death metal, as lush progressions morph to menacing tones seamlessly (“Endurance”), while devastation and grandiosity are the killing blow for natural growths and crescendos (“Inner Oceans”). The episodic nature of closer “Endurance” is aptly climactic and cinematic, its different three-minute portions threaded together with lush and yearning progressions slightly twisted to uncanny valley’s version of the heartfelt, amplified by brief passages of clean vocals and punkish beats.</p><p><em>Perdurance </em>shows that Sloan remains at the top of his game – <strong>Convulsing </strong>cements itself as one of the best offerings of underground extreme metal and death metal in general. The second you think you’ve heard a progression or passage before, Sloan distorts it with the precision of a mathematician and the ambition of a madman. It never neglects punishment or overstays its welcome, and every twist and turn feels beautifully executed and stunningly methodical. Even the cleanly sung bonus track <strong>Porcupine Tree </strong>cover “A Smart Kid” feels at home following “Endurance.” Reflected in its evergreen title, <em>Perdurance </em>represents an immortal statement in dissonant death metal and extreme metal in general: ceaselessly brutal, meticulously crafted, and indubitably iconic.</p><p><strong>Tracks to Check Out:</strong><a href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/convulsing-perdurance-things-you-might-have-missed-2024/#fn-207387-1" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">1</a> “Flayed,” “Inner Oceans,” “Endurance”</p><p><a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/2024/" target="_blank">#2024</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/altars/" target="_blank">#Altars</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/australian-metal/" target="_blank">#AustralianMetal</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/blackened-death-metal/" target="_blank">#BlackenedDeathMetal</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/convulsing/" target="_blank">#Convulsing</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/cosmic-putrefaction/" target="_blank">#CosmicPutrefaction</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/death-metal/" target="_blank">#DeathMetal</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/defacement/" target="_blank">#Defacement</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/dissonant-death-metal/" target="_blank">#DissonantDeathMetal</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/gonemage/" target="_blank">#Gonemage</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/greytomb/" target="_blank">#Greytomb</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/nightmarer/" target="_blank">#Nightmarer</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/perdurance/" target="_blank">#Perdurance</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/porcupine-tree/" target="_blank">#PorcupineTree</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/progressive-death-metal/" target="_blank">#ProgressiveDeathMetal</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/self-release/" target="_blank">#SelfRelease</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/siberian-hell-sounds/" target="_blank">#SiberianHellSounds</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/things-you-might-have-missed/" target="_blank">#ThingsYouMightHaveMissed</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/things-you-might-have-missed-2024/" target="_blank">#ThingsYouMightHaveMissed2024</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/tymhm/" target="_blank">#TYMHM</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/ulcerate/" target="_blank">#Ulcerate</a></p>
Angry Metal Guy<p><a href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/yer-metal-is-olde-fates-warning-fwx/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Yer Metal Is Olde: Fates Warning – FWX</a></p><p><i>By Dolphin Whisperer</i></p><p>Thirty-five years ago, <strong>Fates Warning</strong> solidified their shift from torchbearers of US power metal with 1989’s <a href="https://fateswarning.bandcamp.com/album/perfect-symmetry" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><em>Perfect Symmetry</em></a>, forever moving their progressive path away from power metal and into an emotional, twisting fusion of playful and grooving tunes that no one has assembled quite the same way since. Primary songwriter and guitarist Jim Matheos has anchored the <strong>Fates Warning</strong> playbook throughout all these changes—from wizards and wailing (<em>Night on Bröcken</em><a href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/yer-metal-is-olde-fates-warning-fwx/#fn-191665-1" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">1</a> to <em>The Spectre Within</em>), to <strong>Rush</strong>in’ and rollin’, and to the edges of <strong>Fates</strong> <strong>Warning</strong>’s technical limits. So then, already twenty-plus years into their career at the launch of <em>FWX</em>, what left had Matheos and co. to explore with the <strong>Fates</strong> sound?</p><p>Leaning into similar ideas with which Matheos had already been exploring with his <strong>OSI</strong> project, <em>FWX</em> does touch down on organic ambience, pulsing electronic rhythms, and hypnotic guitar loops that pushed the <strong>Fates Warning</strong> boundaries into an alternative rock-inflected territory. At the turn of the ’00s, it wasn’t uncommon to hear a creeping <strong>Portis</strong>/<strong>Radiohead</strong> influence in downcast music, and from a similar timeframe you can hear this same exploration in <strong>Porcupine Tree</strong> works, <em>Deadwing</em> in particular, so hearing this flair in retrospect doesn’t feel too out of place. But at the time of its release, despite <strong>Fates Warning</strong> never lacking in overdriven riffs that build great songs in a wide range of progressive manners—eclectic but not particularly experimental—<em>FWX</em> did not land widespread critical acclaim.</p><p>The first time <em>FWX</em> graced my ears in full, its lack of progressive grandeur, namely in the histrionic solo department, took me aback. At the tail end of a career loaded with technical highlights and in a scene growing populated-to-bursting with descendants of the <strong>Dream Theater</strong>/<strong>Symphony X</strong> school of excess, <strong>Fates Warning </strong>built with a different kind of virtuosity—meticulous kit grooves, delayed chord loops, recursive and swelling melodies. In that lane, Matheos finds a kind of guitar-driven power that lands both more immediate in force and more playful in counterpoint layering than anything <strong>Fates Warning</strong> had produced since their landmark <em>Parallels</em>. The primary pattern of “Simple Human” crushes against doubling bass pulses and slinky, scattered high-frequency chord stabs; the doom-weighted drag of “Crawl” guides a laser-precise lead warble to crescendo; the high energy strum-stride of “Stranger (With a Familiar Face)”—<em>FWX</em> simply shouts its extremities where albums before it required a focused digestion.</p><p></p><p>But the shift from tactical flex serves twofold, with <em>FWX</em> riding a wave of emotion in a subdued manner, giving greater weight to its themes. Ray Alder had plenty already led his dramatic pipes to the softer identities of classic cuts like “<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8TLdAxDXug" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Leave the Past Behind</a>“<a href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/yer-metal-is-olde-fates-warning-fwx/#fn-191665-2" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">2</a> (<a href="https://fateswarning.bandcamp.com/album/parallels" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><em>Parallels</em></a>, 1991) or “Shelter Me” (<a href="https://fateswarning.bandcamp.com/album/inside-out" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><em>Inside Out</em></a>, 1993). Age graced Alder’s voice kindly, though, allowing him to find a lower register to inject increased doses of pathos into playful odes to depression (“Another Perfect Day”) and persistent negative thoughts (“Handful of Doubt”). Most importantly, time had also left scars enough to cap off <em>FWX</em> with one of <strong>Fates</strong>’ most beautiful tracks, “Wish,” where his pleading cry matches Matheos’ heartbeat-hum guitar pickings and mournful solo. In an album that already indulges in stellar songcraft, Alder’s success keeps <em>FWX</em> worth revisiting over and over.</p><p>As if this lineup for <strong>Fates Warning</strong>—the last of its kind as long-time drummer Mark Zonder, master of his craft, would not return for the <a href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/things-might-missed-2013-fates-warning-darkness-different-light/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">2013 follow-up</a>—needed additional fuel for success, this streamlining approach yielded a timeless sound that I’ve been exploring for well over fifteen years. I’ve cried to <em>FWX</em>. I’ve also celebrated with <em>FWX</em>. I have loved and lost and loved again, watched people drift away while I blame myself or the world around me, finding solace in its dark and plaintive themes while enraptured by its dreamy and thundering soundscape. For a long time, <em>FWX</em> seemed like an unplanned farewell. And though <strong>Fates Warning</strong> has not officially hung up the spurs yet, “Wish” will always feel like a send-off filled not with regret but acceptance. That’s the beauty of iconic albums in our own listening history. Whether it’s what I need or what I want, spinning <em>FWX</em> turns any time into a time full of peak-quality tunes.</p><p></p><p><a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/2004/" target="_blank">#2004</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/2024/" target="_blank">#2024</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/american-metal/" target="_blank">#AmericanMetal</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/fates-warning/" target="_blank">#FatesWarning</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/fwx/" target="_blank">#FWX</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/metal-blade-records/" target="_blank">#MetalBladeRecords</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/porcupine-tree/" target="_blank">#PorcupineTree</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/portishead/" target="_blank">#Portishead</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/progressive-metal/" target="_blank">#ProgressiveMetal</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/progressive-rock/" target="_blank">#ProgressiveRock</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/radiohead/" target="_blank">#Radiohead</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/rush/" target="_blank">#Rush</a> <a rel="nofollow noopener" class="hashtag u-tag u-category" href="https://www.angrymetalguy.com/tag/yer-metal-is-olde/" target="_blank">#YerMetalIsOlde</a></p>

#PorcupineTree: Arriving Somewhere But Not Here

And it sounds they have arrived. Maybe not completely intact.

"Never stop the car on a drive in the dark
Never look for the truth in your mother's eyes
Never trust the sound of rain upon a river rushing through your ears
Arriving somewhere but not here

"Did you imagine the final sound as a gun?
Or the smashing windscreen of the car?
Did you ever imagine the last thing you'd hear
As you're fading out was a song?
Arriving somewhere but not here"
