The Honorable MP for Carlton, ON, Bruce Fanjoy rose in Parliament today for the first time.

If you didn't watch 🇨🇦 #Elxn45 this year... Fanjoy beat and took the riding from Poilievre.

"I will never take the honour of representing them [Carlton] for granted... Now it's time to embrace every moment in this House and in all of our ridings to build a future in which all Canadians can thrive -- in True North Strong and Free!"

"I found out today if you ask a *🇨🇦 *Conservative why they hate Trump but voted for the Conservatives … they get really upset. Appears these voters don’t see the parallels"

Poilievre's conservatives counted on this gullibility.

'A Conservative source says that 'at least 75 per cent' of Poilievre's Conservative MPs support the Republicans in the U.S. but they’re definitely not doing interviews talking about why they like Donald Trump'

A total of 58 seats changed hands in this election, in all sorts of different directions.

There is a message in here. It's just not entirely clear what it is. (Maybe that's because I've not slept in nearly 24 hours.)

Shortly after he was elected leader of 🇨🇦 Conservative Party, #Poilievre and his wife moved into Stornoway mansion, the taxpayer-funded official residence of the leader of the Opposition.

But according to the Official Residences Act, Stornoway is reserved for the “Leader of the Opposition in the House of Commons”. Since Poilievre lost his seat, he is no longer recognized as the official leader of the opposition.

“Younger Canadians aged 18 to 34, meanwhile, picked the Conservatives, based on their perception of who would best address affordability and the rising cost of living.”

This is concerning and speaks to the success of Conservative propaganda; anyone believing Conservatives would to anything to address affordability and the cost of living doesn’t really know anything about Conservatives and clearly isn’t getting their information from a reliable source.

Global News · Canada election tells a tale of 2 demographics split on top issuesBy Sean Boynton

Some things we can be thankful for in our Canadian 🇨🇦 system: a short election campaign, an agreement on the fairness of voting, no major lies or riots, and acceptance of the vote.

It’s good to see democracy working as it should.
