My mother used to #photograph with film rolls for #slides. And the fun thing about slides is, that colours are kept relatively well. Recently I found this photo (that I scanned) of the Kaiser Franz Josef Höhe and the Gross Glockner. It's from the late 1960s. I recognised that building. I've been there on my #cycling trip last year.
Spot the differences..

peer-to-peer networks that worked
core challenges, routing, and privacy

#slides: https://www.draketo.de/software/p2p-talk.pdf
This 90 minutes talk describes how peer-to-peer networks managed to
interactively search 4 million computers with the bandwidth of 2004,
which goals they failed to reach, and what information the networks
expose as part of their operation.
Great talk by Brendan Rodhes (of Pyephem and Skyfield fame) about how Tools, Ecosystem, and importantly, Community, are key to lower the "activation energy” required to tackle problems in programming.
The talk can be well generalized into other fields, but I think it is particularly apt for computer science.
Very much worth the watch, and it works well at 2x speed with subtitles.

Recommendations for 35mm slide scanning in the Bay Area? Or a reputable place that does mail-order?
I've got a lot of them so price matters, but I'd also rather pay a little extra for a place that takes more care and keeps the work in-house. Not looking for the quick, discount mail order places.
After much teasing, I've now posted the slides and script to "Surviving the Turbo Encabulator". It's about tech hyperbole, why an 80-year-old in-joke remains relevant today, and attempting to age with grace intact in an industry that often has neither grace nor tact.
