In case it helps:

What data brokers call "#segmentation" is never meant to acknowledge what you self-identify as.

It's merely one harmful #label after the other slapped onto you. Harmful because its only purpose is to either extract more #profit from you, or to exclude you from services if you're likely to not contribute to somebody else's earnings.

There are no "mostly harmless" labels, even when those that serve to exclude you are the worst.

In T. cancriformis (and other notostracans), the posterior legs get smaller and smaller, and closer and closer together while the dorsal segmentation stays regular. This disjunct in segmentation occurred at least by the Permian, and possibly earlier. What the hell, Triops? Follow the rules! For this and other reasons, I'd REALLY like to the HOX genes of branchiopods explored in more detail. #evodevo #segmentation

I am a #DevelopmentalBiologist on the faculty in Genetics at Harvard Medical School and in Pathology at the Brigham and Women's Hospital. My lab studies the #development of #muscle and #skeleton. We are particularly interested in vertebrate #segmentation. We also examine how #metabolism crosstalks with #cell signaling and #mechanics during development. We develop in vitro #stemcell derived models recapitulating #somite formation with human pluripotent stem cells.

Apparently, very few people learnt something from #CambridgeAnalytica.

The problem was not (just) #Facebook selling your #data to evil guys.

It was #evil guys manipulating your beliefs through #SocialNetworks thanks to such data.

So you should ask yourself: how did I become so easy to manipulate?

One word: #segmentation.

It's a old #marketing technique that constructs homogeneous groups to target.

Facebook do this algorithmically.
You do this manually on #mastodon, through block and anger.
