Fascinating poll. There's been a few recently with similar toplines showing #Reform are definitely defeatable by #Labour.

Labour still in front on every policy area but immigration and crime, ahead among those in employment, and support has shot up among those aged 25-34.

All Reform support is surprising, but it's curious seeing them lead among those out of work due to health/disability — by a 25 point margin.

#Reform claimed today that #KCC spent more than £24,000 on trampolining, bowling, and trips to the cinema on #AsylumSeekers

It also found in 2022 that £1,000 was paid out on TV licences

BBC Draw Up Plans to Win Over Reform Voters by Changing News and Drama Output

The Director General Davie and other executives discussed altering BBC “story selection” in to secure the “trust” of supporters of Nigel Farage’s party

There is, a fine line between ‘winning over’ and pandering to. But the BBC have been pandering to for so long that they don’t know the difference.

Maybe they might try the same with Scotland?

When asked about #Reform managing Kent County Council, Anthony Hook leader of the Lib Dem group in #KCC said it was "utter chaos."
And after the resignation of Fried ...
"Reform's so-called Doge unit seems to be cutting itself. This isn't a crack unit, it's a circus. Time for Reform councillors to stop cancelling audit meetings & dodging real responsibility, & focus on delivering for the people of Kent."

Conservative councillor Sarah Hudson also described the current situation as a "mockery"

On Monday Yusuf and Fried arrived at Kent county council with an entourage of auditors, tasked with identifying and cutting wasteful spending. By Thursday evening, both had quit.

That did not take long! Ohne assumes the auditors are being paid so they are still there while the money lasts.

For those who need to hear it:

We live in *capitalist societies* not *societies with capitalism in it*. What's happening is not an unfortunate accident, it's their natural progression, hence why long-term and/or meaningful reform of capitalism is impossible: it will resist and revert to its preferred state.

Furthermore, capitalism cannot live side by side with a more egalitarian economic system. Why would it? If you have two options, why would you settle for the worst? Either it's forced on everyone (and it was) or it fades into irrelevance.

You either get rid of capitalism, or you live in it.

Continued thread

And councils always give the gig to the big guys who outbid smaller local contractors by coming in at the lowest prices and consequently deliver a poor service because they pay low wages or subcontract to cowboys.

The Procurement Act is supposed to give SMEs a fighting chance in this process, but somehow I doubt it because the big guys will play the system with their subsidiaries and so the race to the bottom will continue.

Who will benefit from #Reform’s DOGE? Farage - headlines = votes.

"Reform’s UK DOGE has been formed. It’s a team of world-class software engineers, data analysts, and forensic auditors working for free.'"
- proudly announced Zia Yousuf of #Reform

But where was the procurement process of these world-class software engineers?

And are we given to think, that a team from Silicon Valley are being flown over to go through Maidstone's spreadsheets?

Perhaps next week, Zia will tell #Kent how 30p will be the top price in its restaurants?

Good times

Lib Dems have accused #Reform of causing ‘paralysis’ at #KCC as the party cancelled multiple scrutiny meetings this month.

Folkestone and Hythe Lib Dems said in a statement that Reform has also yet to confirm which, if any, scrutiny committees will be formed.

The statement said: “For the first three weeks of June, there were FIVE committee meetings timetabled. FOUR have been cancelled.

So Kent is going to be the test bed as to how DOGE will work in the UK

I shall try to report as to what's going on xx
