Erik L. Midtsveen 🏳️‍⚧️🇳🇴<p>If you're using an app like Obtainium and Pixelfed on Android, you can install Pixelfed with Obtainium by adding the release page/ tags link from GitHub.</p><p>Simply copy the following URL into Obtanium:</p><p>- <a href="https://github.com/pixelfed/pixelfed-rn/tags" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">github.com/pixelfed/pixelfed-r</span><span class="invisible">n/tags</span></a></p><p><a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/Android" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Android</span></a> <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/FediHelp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>FediHelp</span></a> <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/Tips" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Tips</span></a> <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/Pixelfed" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pixelfed</span></a> <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/Fediverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Fediverse</span></a> <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/Obtanium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Obtanium</span></a></p>

Justine SmithiesYes get syncthing-fork. I just migrated successfully. You can get the app on <a href="https://snac.smithies.me.uk?t=fdroid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Fdroid</a>. I got the most up-to-date apk from their git repo using <a href="https://snac.smithies.me.uk?t=obtanium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Obtanium</a> .<br>Edit export your config first the uninstall the old app before installing the new fork and re import the config.<br><br><a href="https://github.com/Catfriend1/syncthing-android" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://github.com/Catfriend1/syncthing-android</a><br><br>

With Obtanium, there's nothing between me and a malicious release.</p>
SanskritFritz<p>What I do now is I install an app via <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/aurorastore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>aurorastore</span></a> and then upgrade via <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Obtanium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Obtanium</span></a> from <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/apkpure" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>apkpure</span></a>. If the signature is the same then the upgrade will be successful and I can rest knowing the apt was not tampered with. Am I right with this assumption?</p>
SanskritFritz<p>Dear android-connosseurs on Mastodon! Please einlighten me, is using apkpure instead of AuroraStore safe? I'm using <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Obtanium" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Obtanium</span></a> for all my FOSS apk needs, and plan to use it for the occasional proprietary apps too. <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/apkpure" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>apkpure</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/android" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>android</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Safety" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Safety</span></a></p>

The idea of setting everything up again from scratch didn't appeal to me.
