OMG! Ubuntu!<p>Show Remaining Disk Space in Nautilus on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS</p><p>Here’s a quick tip for those of you looking for an easy way to see see remaining disk space in the file manager of Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. Once upon a time — like, really far back — the Nautilus file manager had a static status bar. This gave you an easy, at-a-glance way to see the amount of remaining disk space in whatever drive or folder you were viewing, at all times. Alas, this feature was lost to the sands of time (well, development priorities). Nautilus still comes with a status of sorts but it’s now a floating overlay that :sys_more_orange:<br><a href="https://hello.2heng.xin/tags/HowTo" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HowTo</span></a> <a href="https://hello.2heng.xin/tags/Nautilus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Nautilus</span></a> <a href="https://hello.2heng.xin/tags/NautilusExtensions" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NautilusExtensions</span></a> <a href="https://hello.2heng.xin/tags/Ubuntu22_04Lts" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Ubuntu22_04Lts</span></a> </p><p>:sys_omgubuntu: <a href="https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2023/06/see-remaining-disk-space-ubuntu-nautilus" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">omgubuntu.co.uk/2023/06/see-re</span><span class="invisible">maining-disk-space-ubuntu-nautilus</span></a></p>
OMG! Ubuntu!<p>Annotate Files &amp; Folders in Nautilus with this New Extension</p><p>Ever wanted to annotate files and/or folders inside of Nautilus? There’s a third-party Nautilus extension that allows you to do exactly that. Nautilus (also known as GNOME Files these days) used to have a built-in “notes” feature. This allows you to attach short written annotations to files and directories on your system, and view/edit/access them at a later date. This (admittedly little-known) feature seems to have been removed in Nautilus 3.2 back in 2011. Well, this week I found a new Nautilus extension that brings this (admittedly niche) feature back, and it works with the latest versions of GNOME’s famed :sys_more_orange:<br><a href="https://hello.2heng.xin/tags/Dev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Dev</span></a> <a href="https://hello.2heng.xin/tags/News" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>News</span></a> <a href="https://hello.2heng.xin/tags/Gnome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Gnome</span></a> <a href="https://hello.2heng.xin/tags/Nautilus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Nautilus</span></a> <a href="https://hello.2heng.xin/tags/NautilusExtensions" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>NautilusExtensions</span></a> </p><p>:sys_omgubuntu: <a href="https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2022/12/nautilus-annotations-extension" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">omgubuntu.co.uk/2022/12/nautil</span><span class="invisible">us-annotations-extension</span></a></p>
