The PC CD-ROM edition of The Secret of #MonkeyIsland was released in 1992. The CD-ROM shown in the picture was distributed without a large box. There is also a version with a big box, although it is quite rare.

Lol, it's a great game though! Glad I finally played it. #secretofmonkeyisland #monkeyisland #amiga #retroarch #RA #retrogaming
4. Once you get to the SCUMM Bar, the sign is significantly brighter in the Sega CD version. Actually I wish the DOS version had been more like that. The first time I played it, I had a monitor that was quite dark and I just walked by the bar without noticing it.
3. The user interface is quite similar to the DOS CD version, that is to say that it has nine verbs instead of the twelve that the floppy versions had.
Apparently the EGA version has a very nice sunset when you first get to the dock, but that's not in any version that I have.
2. Another noticeable difference is that the Sega CD version tells you to "PRESS START" to begin the game. The Monkey Island has been moved to accommodate that, which I think slightly hurts the composition of the scene.
The intro doesn't even proceed to the lookout scene on its own. It just loops. When that happens, the music cuts off pretty awkwardly. That could be a ScummVM issue, but it was awkward when I tried it in an emulator too.
1. About a month ago, I picked up a second-hand copy of The Secret of Monkey Island for the Sega CD. But I haven't sat down and played it yet. Time to fix that. I want to see how it differs from the other versions I've encountered.
There will be spoilers. You have been warned.
Right away, it uses a different Lucasfilm logo than the DOS version. In fact, I think it's the same one as the Amiga version uses, but I don't have that one.

I really wish I knew this guy's story. Haitian politics and environmental consulting?

@danielalbu Here's an earlier version of the waterfall, before the color cycling was added - along with an alternate, much larger version of Kate Capsize's ship!

The Secret of Monkey Island, SEGA CD version. I could lie and say I bought it because @darmato recommended it, but actually it's just the most affordable of the oddball versions of the game. At least that I know of.
It's not the EGA version, alas, but at least Mancomb has a chair to sit on.

According to Jonathan Ackley, the idea of a tropical island covered with chickens came after he went on vacation to Kauai, where a hurricane destroyed all the cages and freed all the chickens.
