Konstantin 🔭<p>I wanted to get a sence of what it means to use another UI framework in Swift for Linux and Windows. So I picked Qt6 and... hello world 😍! Swift's C++ interop is brilliant, the entire wrapper can be a target in the same Swift Package as the app itself!</p><p>Edit: repo link: <a href="http://github.com/kkostov/QwiftUI" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">http://</span><span class="">github.com/kkostov/QwiftUI</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Swift" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Swift</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Qt6" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Qt6</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LinuxDev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxDev</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/WindowsDev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>WindowsDev</span></a></p>
Mitex Leo<p>I’m really frustrated with Windows being closed source, full of telemetry, and packed with bloat. I had to switch back to Windows 11 from Fedora (<span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@fedora" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>fedora</span></a></span>) because my screen kept going black randomly—only 7-8 times last month, but it’s still super annoying. Honestly, I just don’t have the time or energy to dig into it right now. I absolutely fell in love with GNOME (<span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://floss.social/@gnome" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>gnome</span></a></span>) though! </p><p><a href="https://mitexleo.one/tags/linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linux</span></a> <a href="https://mitexleo.one/tags/windows" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>windows</span></a> <a href="https://mitexleo.one/tags/gnome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>gnome</span></a> <a href="https://mitexleo.one/tags/opensource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>opensource</span></a> <a href="https://mitexleo.one/tags/foss" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>foss</span></a> <a href="https://mitexleo.one/tags/kernel" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>kernel</span></a> <a href="https://mitexleo.one/tags/linuxdev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linuxdev</span></a> <a href="https://mitexleo.one/tags/fedora" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>fedora</span></a></p>
Dave Minter<p>So... my little Rust GUI to track sync progress is coming along, but now how can I do this at the granularity of block devices or individual files? E.g. for tracking progress on flushing the caches for a USB thumb drive. <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LinuxDev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxDev</span></a>🤔</p>
IBBoard<p>I thought that the whole point of versioned .so files was so that you could install alternatives and build against different versions.</p><p>But apparently the latest <a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/Gnome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Gnome</span></a> rolled out with huge swathes of apps being made incompatible because of the libsoup change. How wonderful 😐</p><p><a href="https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libsoup/-/issues/218" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/libsoup</span><span class="invisible">/-/issues/218</span></a></p><p><a href="https://hachyderm.io/tags/LinuxDev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LinuxDev</span></a></p>

Also I fixed some bugs from yesterday. Alison 🇦🇺<p>I notice that a year later, Pinephones still can't do MMS - is there a specific bounty we can throw money into to support and encourage developers who work on this? </p><p><a href="https://theres.life/tags/pinephone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>pinephone</span></a> <a href="https://theres.life/tags/linuxphone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linuxphone</span></a> <a href="https://theres.life/tags/linuxdev" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>linuxdev</span></a></p>
