@DemocracyMattersALot I'm not necessarily in alignment with vote blue, but I am in complete alignment with voting against fascism...

Some democrats certainly fit that bill, others are willing to compromise with fascists and I may opt for green or unaffiliated.

I would love to see a collaboration between #WorkersStrikeBack #HandsOff #50501 and #FreePalestine because I believe that all of the issues are fundamentally tied together especially with the vast human rights movements in existence.

One order seeks to compile a list of so-called sanctuary cities that refuse to cooperate with Trump’s mass deportation policies. A second order further militarizes local police departments, while providing legal resources to officers accused of abuses; it also seeks to undo federal consent decrees for departments that have committed civil rights abuses and seeks to punish local officials who “unlawfully prohibit law enforcement officers from carrying out duties.” A third executive order requires professional truck drivers to be proficient in English. On Monday, staffers placed signs on the White House lawn showing mugshots of immigrants, linking them to crimes with the word ”ARRESTED” written in all caps. This comes as House Republicans have proposed a bill that would charge people arriving at a U.S. port of entry $1,000 in order to file an asylum claim — and a $3,500 fee for those sponsoring children. The right to seek asylum is a fundamental human right enshrined in international law, and the U.S. has never before charged petitioners.

ACA Signups · PIE CHARTS: Medicaid, CHIP, ACA & Medicare enrollment by House District (now w/high-res PDFs!)Over the past couple of months I've compiled a master spreadsheet breaking out enrollment in ACA plans (Qualified Health Plans & Basic Health Plans), Medicaid/CHIP coverage (both traditional & via ACA expansion) and Medicare (both Fee-for-Services & Advantage) at the Congressional District levels. As noted in the methodology for each, there's a small amount of fuzziness in some of the numbers for a couple of reasons, the main one being that the "as of" date varies depending on the type of coverage--Medicaid/CHIP total numbers are as of last October, while ACA Expansion Medicaid is as of last June; Medicare data is as of September 2024; and ACA exchange QHPs/BHPs are as of January 2025. With that in mind, and with the pending dire threat to several of these programs (primarily Medicaid & the ACA) from the House Republican Budget Proposal which passed yesterday, I'm going a step further and am generating pie charts which visualize just how much of every Congressional District's total population is at risk of losing healthcare coverage.
