Mélanie Joly, the Canadian minister, told reporters that she condemned the #executions, & that the government would still seek clemency for others.

One more article published today has a list of how many civilians and where they got slaughtered by HTS and its affiliates. The videos embedded show the soldiers faces while or after they've massacred people. HTS seem to be proud of their actions.
Activists also noted that many dead bodies remain unidentified and can’t be reached.

Today's southfront.press reports a new operation by the Alawite rebel forces. They sustained heavy losses on 6 Mar but regrouped today

No judicial process. Al-Assad was bad, but nobody's talking about the jails in Idlib and only The Cradle and few others report the extra judicial killings that have been happening during and after Assad at the hands of HTS (ex al Qaeda).

#Trump supports the #DeathPenalty, & during his 2024 presidential campaign he called for an expansion, suggesting that “drug dealers & human traffickers” & child sex abusers should be put to death. During his first term, Trump restarted federal #executions after a nearly 20-year pause; all 13 were carried out in the final six months of his administration. He has not said how he will expand the death penalty to new federal crimes.

#POTUS #Biden on Monday commuted the sentences of nearly all prisoners on federal #DeathRow, sparing the lives of 37 men just a month before #Trump will return to the Oval Office w/a promise to restart federal #executions.
Those affected by #Biden’s action, all of whom were convicted of murder, will serve life imprisonment w/o the possibility of parole instead of facing #execution. Only 3 men, who each carried out notorious mass killings, will remain on federal death row.

There have been roadside executions by the militia roaming Syria. Videos have been circulating. I obviously cannot post them here.
One news source talking about it and publishing some stuff is South Front.
It's not a good look on the US (and Qatari) who have financed some or all of the groups that have taken over Damascus. Very murky situation and IMO is only going to get worse. I sincerely hope I'm wrong.
