💥 A data breach isn’t just a tech failure — it’s a financial crisis.

Industry-specific breakdowns:
🏥 Healthcare: $9.77M per breach, delays in care, and lost trust
🏦 Financial: Fines, reputational hits, and increased scrutiny
🛍️ Retail: Immediate sales drops and long-term brand damage
⚠️ Public sector: Soaring response costs + political fallout

Executives, boards, CIOs, CTOs, and CISOs need to see this as business risk — not just IT risk.

UnitedHealth is demanding that some struggling doctors immediately repay loans issued after last year’s cyberattack. That wasn't the way the providers were told repayment would work in terms of when and how.

#CNBC has the story:

Hmmm.... I emailed a state agency this morning to ask about a cyberattack claimed by an extortion group. The agency's site was up when I emailed them to ask about the attack. Shortly after I emailed them, it was suddenly down. I wonder if my email made them aware of something they had been unaware of....
