FiXato<p>I desperately need a new <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/mobilePhone" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>mobilePhone</span></a> as my current one (a <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/Xiaomi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Xiaomi</span></a> <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/MiA1" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MiA1</span></a>) was bought way back in 2018 or so, and is showing its age <em>(slow, apps don't stay in memory, and tomorrow I'll be replacing the charging board for the third or fourth time...)</em>.</p><p>I'm currently looking at either the Xiaomi <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/RedmiNote10Pro" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RedmiNote10Pro</span></a> or the <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/RedmiNote11S" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RedmiNote11S</span></a> for about 2200 NOK from a European webshop that doesn't take ages on shipping.</p><p>Specs-wise they are fairly similar: <a href="https://www.kimovil.com/en/compare/xiaomi-redmi-note-10-pro-6gb-128gb,xiaomi-redmi-note-11s-6gb-128gb" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">kimovil.com/en/compare/xiaomi-</span><span class="invisible">redmi-note-10-pro-6gb-128gb,xiaomi-redmi-note-11s-6gb-128gb</span></a><br>with the 10 Pro's pros include having a Snapdragon instead of MediaTek chipset, higher Antutu score, better screen, more durable glass and better macro lens.<br>Its cons however include being a tad bigger, and perhaps more importantly: being older (March 2021 vs January 2022) than the 11S (and thus likely will have less updates remaining), which could be an issue with how I tend to use my phones beyond their support date...</p><p>I've also read some disturbing hardware and software, and bloatware issues, and I'm not sure how much of that is due to negative feedback bias, and dodgy early Android releases that should perhaps have stayed beta for longer...<br>I've yet to do a similar hw/sw issues research for the 11S though, so perhaps that will have similar issues reported.</p><p>I'm also not sure how much I'll actually like <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/MiUI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MiUI</span></a>, as my previous Xiaomi was an <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/AndroidOne" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AndroidOne</span></a> device, and thus had 3 major updates worth of stock <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/Android" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Android</span></a>... from what I've heard the Xiaomi of that period can't quite be compared to the current one...</p><p>None of the phones I've looked at for the past 1-2 years have really stood out for me, but I also think I'm running out of time on my current one... ugh, I hate being forced to replace hardware due to hardware and software degradation...</p><p><a href="https://toot.cat/tags/mobilePhones" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>mobilePhones</span></a> <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/hardwareFailure" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>hardwareFailure</span></a> <a href="https://toot.cat/tags/Redmi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Redmi</span></a></p>
