KIT-ITZ History | Geschichte🎉 NeuerscheinungOle Sparenberg untersucht erstmals die Geschichte der Manganknollen von ihrer Entdeckung 1873 bis in die Gegenwart. Diese Studie zeigt, weshalb sich seit den 1950er Jahren ein ökonomisches Interesse an diesen Mineralien aus der 🌊Tiefsee entwickelte, das 1978 in Abbautests gipfelte, bevor die Projekte wieder eingestellt wurden. Erst im 21. Jahrhundert ist das Interesse am Tiefseebergbau wieder aufgelebt, trifft heute aber verstärkt auf Diskussionen über die 🐳🐡🐚ökologischen Folgen.
