“The Matrix” has been one of the most impactful films of my lifetime, and was created by two #transgender women, Lana and Lily Wachowski.

In multiple interviews they have stated that the movie is intended to be a #trans allegory, with the red and blue pills representing the choice to transition versus the choice to go into denial, with the subway scene referencing Lana’s own brush with suicide and so on

Here is an interview where Lily talks about #thematrix as a trans allegory in her own words.

For #transdayofvisibility today I have called on and continue to call on trans people everywhere to reclaim the idea of the red pill, which has been appropriated from us, by sharing our history to the #redpill hashtag.

Led the red pill again represent the idea of choosing authenticity and self discovery in the face of fear.

Let us defy erasure by telling our stories.

My regular rewatch of The Matrix has just concluded, and I need to tell you that sewing has ruined me! (again)

Now I can't unsee that all suit jackets in the movie have yellow linings (unusual!) and that includes the suit jacket Neo wears during his day in the office.

I don't know if there's any symbolic meaning to this, but it sure looks great.

I left a virtual machine with a desktop environment running by mistake. Usually I pause them unless I'm actively using them, but this time I forgot one. All day I've been hearing notification sounds but have been unable, till now, to figure out what was causing them.

When I look at #logfiles or #mailheaders, I often feel like being the young, "naturally born" #hacker (i.e. not having a "port") from the movie #TheMatrix, pointing to a screen where you can see green characters falling down and he's pointing to them saying "Look at that women in the red dress!"

wired.com/story/matrix-best-ha lists some more such cases.

BTW, that's what IMHO is a #DigitalNative, not those teenagers living on their smartphones but having no idea on whose computers their data is on. 🤓
