Next month to the day, April 25+26, I will be attending #Grazer @linuxtage as I do every year.

A brilliant event by itself, so I am even more so excited that we've managed to get some serious @kde@foss.social presence organized. 🥳

There will be a #KDE info stand througout Saturday and Harald Sitter will give a talk on #Plasma.

And that is not all!

The Plasma team will hold a week long dev sprint on the same #TUGraz campus starting on Tuesday April 22nd 💪

There are two dev rooms available from 8:00 to 22:00 and we should have plenty of space in case some other KDE contributors or people interesting in contributing want to join 😎

Das Plasma Team wird die Woche über einen Dev Sprint am gleichen #TUGraz Campus abhalten und damit schon am Dienstag dem 22. April starten 💪

Dafür sind zwei Räume von 8:00 bis 22:00 reserviert und somit sollte auch genügend Platz vorhanden sein, falls andere KDE Leute, oder solche die das noch werden wollen, vorbei kommen 😎

Studierende der #TUGraz aufgepasst: im Jänner gibt's an 3 Donnerstagen Nachmittag eine IMHO wirklich spannende LV, die von Kolleg:innen meiner Firma gehalten wird.

Die erzählen aus unserer Praxis mit großen Industrie-Software-Projekten und zeigen auf, wo was heikel war, worauf man aufpassen muss und so weiter.

Fand ich damals als Student selber höchst spannend, da man sowas selten bis nie wo hört.

Heard a radio segment on a new research paper where people were incidentally sharing personal data via #socialnetwork through photographs and such.

Wrote down the name of the researcher, wrote him an email and asked for the PDF as it perfectly fits in my #PIM lecture where I have a slide set on that situation already.

Found out that most authors are from the very same institute of #TUGraz where I did my PhD. 🤣

MDPIIncidental Data: A Survey towards Awareness on Privacy-Compromising Data Incidentally Shared on Social MediaSharing information with the public is becoming easier than ever before through the usage of the numerous social media platforms readily available today. Once posted online and released to the public, information is almost impossible to withdraw or delete. More alarmingly, postings may carry sensitive information far beyond what was intended to be released, so-called incidental data, which raises various additional security and privacy concerns. To improve our understanding of the awareness of incidental data, we conducted a survey where we asked 192 students for their opinions on publishing selected postings on social media. We found that up to 21.88% of all participants would publish a posting that contained incidental data that two-thirds of them found privacy-compromising. Our results show that continued efforts are needed to increase our awareness of incidental data posted on social media.
