So instead, GrapheneOS just tells the app that the permission is granted, but the network isn't available.I'm used to <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/SwiftKey" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#SwiftKey</a>, but it makes me uncomfortable that the keyboard knows everything I type and has functions that call home. You can turn them off, but you never know. In GrapheneOS, you let it download dictionaries and kill the network access, then you know for sure.

Unfortunately now I have a new problem: SwiftKey is so smart that it forces corrections that I do not want. For example: typing a word, a space and an exclamation mark (e.g. 'hello !') gets autocorrected to 'hello! ') and there is no way to turn it off. This is ends up forming a little hell when it comes to typing bang commands in DuckDuckGo for instance, tho at least there I can get around it by remembering to put the bang commands right at the start of the sentence. Turning off Auto Space in SwiftKey settings does makes this go away but introduces a new problem: Selecting a word from the prediction bar automatically adds a space after it in all cases, and adding punctuation after that does not remove the space. This results in constant "word ." and "question ?". So I end up having to pick which of these two issues is the least annoying and stick with it. GBoard ended up being the better option for usability but AMOLED screen replacements are expensive, so.
