This morning i found another possibility for him, & have emailed about it to him, asking if he'd like me to also install it for him to evaluate; #VueScan https://flathub.org/en-GB/apps/com.hamrick.VueScan . I wrote the email with heavy heart, & kinda sorta hope he declines the offer, coz this is #Proprietary, not #FOSS, which i always prefer to eschew.

An hour ago i rang him for a quick update. He's continued to diligently work away each day in the KFedora VM, practising with OnlyOffice, Spectacle [for screenshots then manipulations], & his printer + scanner. He still sounds cautiously pleased & hopeful that this penguin caper could be a goer to replace his dying win10.

To whom does this appeal? Obviously, to the base, to people with an appetite for cruelty, who love to turn on their t.v. as they scarf down their cheese curls or hamburgers and watch some hapless human being who "deserves" punishment be ruthlessly punished.

I can't fucking copy, paste anything reliably in the many months since upgrading to #KDE Plasma 6... sigh. Never take basic features for granted I guess 
Even something I've used A LOT since fully migrating to #Linux on #KDEPlasma, which is #KRunner has gotten terrible since the upgrade. More often than not, that thing simply does not launch until multiple tries - a couple of times it even hard crashed and needed to be killed and restarted using System Monitor.
Same issue with #Spectacle, the screenshot utility on KDE.
