cos<p>I still remember seeing Neil Halstead performing solo at The Evelyn in the early 2000s, and <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@acb" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>acb</span></a></span> dashing home to get his copy of Pygmalion to get a signature on it. I was still catching up at the time, but it’s definitely one of those albums you either Get™ or you don’t. I’m glad I do, and the connections to Bark Psychosis aren’t lost on me.</p><p><a href="https://aus.social/tags/music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>music</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/shoegaze" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>shoegaze</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/slowdive" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>slowdive</span></a> <a href="https://aus.social/tags/pygmalion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>pygmalion</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/@tangleofwires/113944622818591608" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">mas.to/@tangleofwires/11394462</span><span class="invisible">2818591608</span></a></p>
Bevan Thomas<p>In Roman mythology, the sculptor Pygmalion fell in love with the beautiful statue he'd carved out of ivory alabaster. He even began to woo it. The goddess Venus was so touched by Pygmalion's passion that the next time he kissed the statue, she turned it into a real woman.<br>🎨 Jean-Baptiste Regnault</p><p><a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/MythologyMonday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MythologyMonday</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/BookChatWeekly" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BookChatWeekly</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/31DaysofHaunting" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>31DaysofHaunting</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/folklore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>folklore</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/mythology" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>mythology</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/GreekMythology" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>GreekMythology</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/RomanMythology" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>RomanMythology</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/Greece" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Greece</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/Roman" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Roman</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/Pygmalion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pygmalion</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.ca/tags/Venus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Venus</span></a></p>
Theo de Bruijn<p>Listening on Easter -of course- to the Matthäus Passion. Another attempt at the version by <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Pygmalion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pygmalion</span></a> / Raphaël <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Pichon" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Pichon</span></a>, given the raving reviews last year. The articulation is superb. Every word can be heard. And the tempi are very well chosen. Not too slow and certainly not too fast. Not sure though if it will defeat my favorite version by La Petite Bande. </p><p>What is your favorite version?</p><p><a href="https://open.spotify.com/album/1Q2mZZPoKRj3EfDG3sJRem?si=eD9WlYroSoG7WQfIAfDA6Q" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">open.spotify.com/album/1Q2mZZP</span><span class="invisible">oKRj3EfDG3sJRem?si=eD9WlYroSoG7WQfIAfDA6Q</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>music</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/matthauspassion" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>matthauspassion</span></a></p>

BeePS<p>PIGMALEON<br>by Gorged Bernard Pshaw</p><p>A roughly sculpted boring, boorish boar is willed to life in human form — by deplorable American citizens. The swine runs for U.S. president, wins, terrorizes the U.S., then sets its sights on world domination, but dies from swine flu before its dream is realized... because he had forgone getting vaccinated against swine flew.
