Judeau (EatTheRich)<p>I finally completed <a href="https://mas.to/tags/PhantasyStar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PhantasyStar</span></a> II! It took me 34 hours using the official easy mode ROM.</p><p>I feel very conflicted about this game. Some of its themes, ideas &amp; mechanics were far ahead of their time but the overall design is firmly rooted in an older more archaic mindset.</p><p>The dungeon design was brutal. <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://peoplemaking.games/@St1ka" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">@<span>St1ka</span></a></span> nailed it with his assessment. It felt like too powerful a game for the system and yet there it was running fine. I think I struggled to find people to play it with but that's the way it went on the DS. Gwen The Red Moss 🏳️‍⚧️<p>Wow. 35 years ago today, we were graced with the release of the original <a href="https://eldritch.cafe/tags/PhantasyStar" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PhantasyStar</span></a>.</p><p>Not only my favourite JRPG of the era, but one of my favourite games of all time.
