Tommaths (he/him)<p>A free 1-day online <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/training" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>training</span></a> course for <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/museum" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>museum</span></a> (etc) folk on 28/05/2025 you say? </p><p>What's the catch? </p><p>It's only available for people associated with a museum (or gallery, library, heritage site, etc) with a collection primarily based in <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/Scotland" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Scotland</span></a>.</p><p>Beyond that limitation you're good to go!</p><p>The training focuses on getting involved in <a href="https://mathstodon.xyz/tags/MathsWeek" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MathsWeek</span></a> Scotland, including case studies from museums who've done it before, presentations relating to maths content in the CfE, and a workshop from yours truly on how to spot the maths in your museum (etc).</p><p>No particular level of mathematical skill is required; just an open and creative mindset, alongside an interest in exploring the opportunities that the mathematical world has to offer your site and its stories.</p><p>The training is offered by Maths Week Scotland and National Museums Scotland working in partnership.</p><p>Register here: <a href="https://my.nms.ac.uk/0/17854" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">my.nms.ac.uk/0/17854</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>Any questions?
