Anꞇóin Ó B.<p>Why I like <a href="https://mastodon.ie/tags/lowRes" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>lowRes</span></a> video:</p><p>I like it because it cannot be a tool for building a media empire.</p><p>You can't impress someone with 15 seconds of footage from an entry level camera (...from 2009...) the way you could with, eg. the highest setting on a flagship smartphone.</p><p>You can't trend chase with it; it is unlikely to be "enough" to be its own YouTube video.</p><p>So, when someone judges it as The Right Tool it's unlikely I'm seeing something I've seen before. That's a permanently exciting incongruity.</p>

Tomáš<p>I've been getting into <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/uxn" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>uxn</span></a> more and more - whenever (I think) nobody is watching. That's not out of shame, but because I'm afraid people might think I know how any of it works. </p><p>I speak '<a href="https://bsd.network/tags/lowres" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>lowres</span></a>' art a whole lot, but when the <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/oldcomputerchallenge" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>oldcomputerchallenge</span></a> hits, I'm going full noodle - that's the best 1bit drawing tool in my bug out kit. I don't care for pressure sensitivity and I don't care for smooth anti-aliased curves. You may not realize it, but <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/technomage" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>technomage</span></a> _is_ pixel art. Noodle is quite possibly the ideal tool for what I've been trying to descend into from the real-world ink curse. Alas -</p><p>I already feel guilty about neglecting <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/interlisp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>interlisp</span></a>. I don't care how monochromistically artistic you think you are. No software does 1bit art better than interlisp, but uxn's noodle is right there with it. Whoever am I to give one advice, but it's all been done, you just don't know about it yet: <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/runinterlisp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>runinterlisp</span></a> and find out.</p><p>Speaking of uxn: I haven't given up on making a custom monospaced CREAM bitmap font for X, but I did figure out how to use uxn's left, which uses the font by default, so for my personal needs, the thirst has been quenched. Tomáš<p>Having defeated the sea-faring aquaticAI (c) in a mutually destructive battle, the <a href="https://bsd.network/tags/technomage" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>technomage</span></a> washes ashore on an island forgotten by progress.</p><p>It's that one tv-show episode where most of the plot takes place in a dream and flashbacks of the protagonist.
