Justice for Willie Simmons<p>I got an email reminder about the 2024 3rd quarter Hygiene &amp; Property program being open during August. These emails are not consistent, and although I try and keep track of them sometimes I miss them. This one closes at the end of the month.</p><p>This is the program which non food items can be ordered. Looking at the previous catalog I see that Willie had me order things like: toothpaste, shampoo, soap, deodorant, sweatshirt, and sandals.</p><p>I wrote Willie and am waiting to hear back from him, to know what to order this time.</p><p>If you would like help offset the cost of this you can make a donation to his general fund <a href="http://spot.fund/JusticeForWillieSimmons" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">http://</span><span class="ellipsis">spot.fund/JusticeForWillieSimm</span><span class="invisible">ons</span></a></p><p><a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Life" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Life</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Without" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Without</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Parole" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Parole</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/LWOP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LWOP</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Alabama" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Alabama</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/MutualAid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MutualAid</span></a> <br>/1<br>(Old catalog)</p>
Justice for Willie Simmons<p>I just placed the order for the second food / care package of the year. These are available four times a year.</p><p>If you would like to help us by offsetting the cost of this, please make a donation to Willie's general fund.<br><a href="http://spot.fund/JusticeForWillieSimmons" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">http://</span><span class="ellipsis">spot.fund/JusticeForWillieSimm</span><span class="invisible">ons</span></a></p><p>I noticed three items were more expensive. And one item which was the same price but 2 ounces less (shrinkflation). </p><p>The ordering just opened and closes on May 16, but I have been told that they can run out of items so I didn't want to put it off. Not sure when exactly this gets delivered.</p><p>Willie has sent me catalogs in the past, with items marked, but this time I just copied what I have ordered in the past.</p><p>You can spend a total of $175, which I came close enough to that with taxes it just went over that amount.</p><p><a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/MutualAid" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>MutualAid</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/PrisonAbolition" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>PrisonAbolition</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/LWOP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LWOP</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/life" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>life</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/without" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>without</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/parole" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>parole</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Alabama" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Alabama</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/DOC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>DOC</span></a></p>

The Alabama House will head to the floor to determine if judges will be able to review the old cases of individuals who were sentenced to life without parole under the Habitual Felony Offender Act for crimes that involved no physical injury (non-homicide, non-sex crimes). The bill does not guarantee anyone will get out early, but provides a fighting chance if the original sentence is found to be no longer fair or necessary for public safety</p><p><a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Alabama" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Alabama</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/StClair" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>StClair</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/LWOP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LWOP</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/life" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>life</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/without" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>without</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/parole" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>parole</span></a> <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/HB29" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>HB29</span></a><br>/1</p>
