Everyone's using <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LMMS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#LMMS</a> for midi under <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#Linux</a>, but I feel that QTractor is more flexible. It supports almost all kinds of plugin formats for one.To get it running, you need to run the jack server (qjackctl) & Qsynth softsynth prior. Then create a new midi track, select an instrument, and create a new clip on it. Draw some (random?) midi notes in it. bibbssecond, afaik there's no way to use a different "instrument" in the beat editor for a particular drum on a note associated with a whole drumkit. i'd either have to use the piano roll, defeating the purpose of the beat editor, or create a new instrument and load the same drumkit, which is a mess.for <a href="https://vocalounge.cafe/tags/lmms" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#lmms</a> users, what do you use the beat editor for, if at all? personally i think i'll just use the piano roll for drums.if i'm missing something please lmk

When designing data pipelines, refinement processes and exploratory games for your AIs, you can forget about everything you know about the mechanistic aspects of Transformer architectures, and just simply focus on how to improve the data.The data is better if it can be used to train better models. Better models have higher competence in skills, higher volume of relevant knowledge, and higher coverage in task generalism and flexibility. Hence the best data represents exactly those aspects maximally.Human level is not the gold standard and neither is raw real-world data. We can design processes which refine the data without apparent limits, and make that data alive through AIs trained with it.

Somehow 10 years experience of using flstudio are making me unable to switch - everything seems wrong and clumsy. And I can't even describe what part of ux/ui of flstudio is missing in <a href="https://lor.sh/tags/lmms" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#lmms</a>, but it probably behavior of piano roll and patterns.
