Eugenia L<p>Is it just me or <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/QTractor" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>QTractor</span></a> is among the best DAWs? Everyone's using <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LMMS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>LMMS</span></a> for midi under <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Linux" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Linux</span></a>, but I feel that QTractor is more flexible. It supports almost all kinds of plugin formats for one.</p><p>To get it running, you need to run the jack server (qjackctl) & Qsynth softsynth prior. Then create a new midi track, select an instrument, and create a new clip on it. Draw some (random?) midi notes in it. Hit play.</p><p><a href="https://sourceforge.net/projects/qtractor/files/qtractor/1.5.7" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">sourceforge.net/projects/qtrac</span><span class="invisible">tor/files/qtractor/1.5.7</span></a></p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/daw" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>daw</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/ardour" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ardour</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/opensource" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>opensource</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/foss" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>foss</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/audio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>audio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/musicproduction" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>musicproduction</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/midi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>midi</span></a></p>
